schoosier Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 The sleaze in Tobacco Road doesn't stop or start with UNC, but it sure puts an exclamation point. The shadiness of NC States championship teams along with Coach K's denial of jobs for parents and his players getting jewelry and other benefits and being caught shows the high and mighty Atlantic Coast Crap stinks a long way. UNC should have 3 of their champ banners taken down for decades long cheating started under their God Dean Smith. The Fab Five cheated less yet paid a heavy price along with Michigan. My money says the Communists in Indy will do as they always have and hammer SMU now like UNLV then and the Carolina Way will continue. Just another reason to dismantle the NCAA, which the power 5 are on their way. Hail Myles Brand! Damn Sampson made all the impermissible calls that are so important compared to academic fraud, Fedex envelopes full of cash, or raping or beating up women on campus. Got to get your priorities in order. Quote

Got to get your priorities in order. We also self-reported, so we made their job very easy. No denying that the NCAA is entirely corrupt and just competent enough to sometimes be dangerous; that 'sometimes' includes the aforementioned self-reporting. Quote

HoosierCoop Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I just read where an academic agency that helps fund UNC has placed them on a one year probabion period. At least they are doing something about this. http://www.journalgazette.net/news/us/Accrediting-body--Academic-fraud-nets-UNC-1-year-probation-7140887 Quote

They are hoping to win the title this year and then not have any wins vacated. This does make the fact we beat them in Soccer a few years ago that much more awesome. Quote
Magnanimous Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 UNC deserves an athletic department-wide ban on NCAA postseason play for two years. In 1960 all of IU sports were banned for four years due to a football scandal. I realize that four years isn't going to fly these days (not even for child rape...), but two years university wide is fitting. MemphisHoosier, GloryDays and IUsafety 3 Quote

brtjohns Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 the ncaa will once again prove its incompetence if it doesnt send a convincing 'we dont grant immunity...this wont be tolerated and will be punished severely' message to the premiere athletic departments that think they've built up so much clout, they've earned the privilege to operate above the law. sadly, i'd put my money on that. i had more respect for duke even before this whole thing broke. now that rivalry is good vs evil to me; which is odd, duke being the blue devils. What. A. Joke. Not surprised at all. If you don't admit anything it's so difficult for them to find evidence. If you have a former player screaming about infractions but that university is UNC they'll find a way to get around it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mamasa 1 Quote
