UM Graduate Transfer Max Bielfeldt To IU

Recommended Posts

I like that he took on a teaching role with Michigan's bigs last year and hope once he learns our system he can help ours learn the basics of defense and positioning.  So glad to have someone like him to help get Bryant, Holt, and Juwan---battle ready! I agree with AKHoosier and hope he can become the Zeisloft of the bigs---a grad transfer who surprises and gives us solid minutes inside.  Interesting that the Kelley school of business helps again---he plans to get a masters in finance.  A really good move by Crean to have Z3 show him around when he visited BTown.

Sure makes the Michigan series even a little more---heated---I mean interesting!

This was my concern all along.  Not sure Max contributes enough next year to offset the bad blood and extra incentive UM now has to beat our butts.

Great fit for this year's team. I don't think anyone is expecting more than the 5 points and 3 rebounds a game he gave UM last year, but he's 5 fouls and hopefully a nice cerebral fundamental player. Much better than flailing for a freshman "project" like we've seen so many times before.

5 points and a handful of rebounds is a lot more than we could rely on Hanner for game in and game out. I think Max will add a lot more on D than Hanner (tried to take a charge every play and bit on every pump fake).

If he so much as keeps his hands up on defense, I'll be happy. That's more than we normally got out of Hanner...

I hope Max can be our enforcer and just toughen up what seemed to be one of the softest Indiana teams that I can remember last year.  He doesn't have to be all Bill Laimbeer out there, but just a guy that will give us more of a Veteran Front Court and a tougher identity.

Max will understand positioning on the court and have situational awareness. Kinda like Hartman has. That will be a big help when Thomas is on the bench.
Imagine Z, max,and Colin on the court together. Lol. They know how to play IU ball.

I hope so! My son changed schools and I am thinking if was for the worse! Hope I am wrong!
