Devin Davis cited for marijuana possession

Sorry I'll correct myself "guilty by being in the same room"....these kids have not a care in the world.....if you think Hanner shouldn't be kicked off the team you're an idiot.....

Thanks for the inference.

I think people should know the facts before going off the deep end. And the fact that 2 dudes, at some point, were in the same room, doesn't affirm other possibilities.

You want to really f*** with them and get your point across...? The offenders don't run, they don't do suicides, they don't do work, they're "suspended from team activities." You place the offenders where the rest of the team can see them and you punish the rest of the team. Once you do enough physical exercise that you puke from someone else's mistake you tend to grow a pair and stop people from doing stupid s***. I did more push-ups, flutter kicks, and physical punishment for other mistakes than for my own mistakes I would call people out in a heartbeat.

"I don't puke! No, seriously. The local PBS wanted to do a documentary on me!"

For real?! I've heard plenty of people say they don't puke from workouts an hour or two before they start puking from workouts. I made it through all sports conditioning without puking then the military kicked me in my face. 11 miles with full kit and a 50 lb ruck then 20-30 minutes of "cards" with body armor and a final mile with everything in a "sprint" did it for most people.

My HS football coach did that. He made the innocents run while the guilty sat in lawn chairs watching from the middle of the football field. He only had to do it once per season. Trust me, the sophomores understood the concept, but the seniors would ride your @$$ for every little thing. Rumor has it, THAT's what senior leadership is all about.

It's amazing how effective it is when used correctly. If you don't have enough personal pride to stay out of trouble peer pressure usually ends it rather quickly. The only problem using it in this program is having more players being guilty then innocent. Ha!

:)

But seriously I've never puked from a workout. I've never done anything close to military training, but through my years of football two-a-days and basketball conditioning I never threw up.

Now that we've established the physical fitness level of BTB and what is an acceptable threshold for relieving oneself of his/her stomach contents after exercise I believe we've said everything there is to be said on this topic. Move along, folks.

Multiple incidents or not kicking a player off the team is really extreme for a misdemeanor.

Mr. Stillman just what standards would you propose that the IU Basketball Program subscribe to?  I do assume you would agree that some code of ethics and decorum be in place.

My last take:

I'm pro legalization. But, as mdn said, there is a time and a place...

The place: not a campus dorm

The time: not while on scholarship, while you could be drug tested, when you should be working on school/basketball ....

There needs to be growth. The amount of repeat offenders on our team suggests they aren't learning from their mistakes. Prior precedents be damned, show them you mean business, show Devin the door, suspend Hanner 6-10 games, not exhibition either

Look, I'm in the minority, but I don't give a crap.

Marijuana doesn't hurt anybody. He's not out there committing violent crimes or being accused of sexual assault. The worst crime committed by the team of late was when one idiot decided to drive drunk, which I consider to be one of the most serious of crimes, and luckily, no one was hurt. The rest of the incidents are innocent. Stupid, but innocent things that all college kids do. Unfortunately, they have the spotlight on them due to their status. They should be smarter about how their actions impact their lives, but so should each of us.

You tell me that someone on the team physically or sexually assaulted someone; get them off the squad immediately. You tell me some one smoked a bowl, or just had it on them; ok, stop, but whatever. These kids are stupid 18-22 year olds. Let's try to remember how dumb each of us was back then.

I hope Devin understands how lucky he is, but I also don't think any of us can understand what he's been through or what he was thinking. Luckily, it's not on us to decide how to punish this young man.

Alright, now everyone go take a hit, and chill out.

.

Had a lot of people tell me about this, if you're referring to what I think you are, wasn't sure if it was true though

Police reports will validate that HMP was arrested for a DUI or DWI or whatever it's called in Indiana.

Sorry, apparently we weren't thinking of the same thing

Man, I did so many stupid things when I was 18-22 years old. I also had leadership who either ended me doing those things rather quickly and steered me in a direction I could do those things safely and within the laws/rules. Kids will be kids but if not restrained kids can also take it overboard and affect their lives or other permanently.
