Stan Robinson transferring

Recommended Posts

Not really sure this is Creaning. I don't think he's being forced out, just not happy with playing time, role, etc.

Have to agree.  His minutes slipped this year and why should he expect to see any increased playing time next year?  Call it Creaning if you will, but a coach should be upfront with every player at the end of the season and if there's little likelihood of increased playing time be honest and tell them.  It's then the player's decision on what he wants to do.  If CTC wanted him gone, he had opportunity earlier to kick him off the team for the now famous "violation of team rules" that many coaches use.  I'm not happy about the number of kids we've had leave the program the past several years but the facts are it is an epidemic in college basketball and almost every day there are announcements of player transfers.  It is what it is.

I agree. I don't think Stan was "Creaned".

We are still however 1 Scholarship over and still recruiting, so I will little doubt that 1 or 2 players will be "Creaned" before the end of May or June.

Dan Dakich via twitter

"Robinson leaving IU isn't "Creaning" it's a kid leaving that probably should find another spot"

@FoxSportsHutch: After Wichita St. game I asked Robinson in locker room if he would be back next season. Seemed surprised. He said, "I'm not going anywhere."

Whats he supposed to say when he has to go get on the team bus/plane? "Yeah I'm leaving, I don't like my playing time here"

No.

I have an odd feeling Crean keeps Priller and/or April around to discount the "Creaning" talk.

Man, I hope not!

Oh, my hope of a new coach is dashed.

If he keeps them around it's because they want to be here and Crean sees that they can add value to the team. Doubt he cares about dispelling the term, "Creaning".

Holy cow! It's an Old Fart who has acknowledged and accepted as fact a modern change from the game they grew up with! And he's not just trying to blame a scapegoat!

You sir, are breaking stereotypes. Kudos.

No.

He also tweeted he was staying though he took that down later.

One of the reporters asked him about Troy and Yogi returning and he said I hope they do but I am coming back.

While yes I wanted him gone for his off the court issues Crean did not kick him off because of them. He kept him the whole year IMO to help try to save his job and possibly win one or two more games. Then when it is convienant for him it is now time for him to go.

And THIS (^^^^^) is the very definition of "creaning".
