You are who you are as a person for the most part but I just wish Troy would literally mimic himself after oladipo. It's just not going to happen though in my opinion. Could, but wont. He's counting money now so lets just enjoy what he can bring to the team. He doesn't put in the effort to be a lottery pick which he easily could be. Still, I'm ready to see am improved jumper and his flying squirrel act. Definitely an exciting player. I just wish he could mix dependable in there too.

JBJs current issues all come from his surgery. Crean said his shooting isn't like usually and he is having some trouble getting back to play, its because of his legs/knee. Hard to shoot with dead legs. He will be back before too long.

And just cause we support the team doesn't mean we have to agree with what every player decides to do/not do. I think Troy already has his mind made up on the NBA after this year. I hope that means that he will put in the work to make it, but sounds like he still struggles to be a gym rat. The teams success depended on him a lot last year. When he was on, so was the team. Unfortunately he disappeared a lot, which lead to the team looking the same.

All right, this is the second time someone said this. Isn't it pretty clear that I understand his issues come from his surgery? I talk about his surgery in the post you quoted. What I'm saying, is the surgery concerns me. I work in a field of law where I see a lot of extremity surgeries. I see dozens of routine, low-risk surgeries screw up lives because in the months after they just had one small thing changing their overall body mechanics. It concerns me that Crean said his shooting isn't like it usual and he is having some trouble getting back to play. It concerns me because he had surgery. Because he had surgery and is in the period where we expect his mechanics to almost be normal I am concerned. You are unable to know he will be back before too long, because you're working off the exact same coach-speak statement I am. Therefore, my concern that a coach who isn't well-known for his honesty and forthrightness is saying his star player is having trouble fixing his mechanics after a surgery is justified.

I mean Doc Watson's troubles all stem from his surgery too, but I don't think he will be back before too long.

Im just saying you can't expect him to come right back from his surgery and somehow be amazing. He is going to be awkward for a bit as he gets his legs underneath him again. Not everything is a conspiracy theory.

I'll add this on top of hovas post

A lot of articles this week suggested we would have a strong defensive focus this year. I know it is just one practice but I had hoped Fran would have said "a lot of time spent on defense".

And I'm just saying you can't hear a player is having trouble with his shooting after surgery and just dismiss it like everything will definitely be better because frequently it's not.

Heck, first example that comes to mind is Navorro Bowman. Broken leg, textbook recovery, slightly off in practice, turns out his successful broken leg recovery changed his mechanics just enough to make him a great LB instead of an elite LB. This stuff happens all the time.

Who said anything about a conspiracy? Because I said Crean won't tell the whole truth? He's a coach, of course he won't. When have you ever heard a coach come out about their star player "Dude is mad screwed, we are royally boned this season"? I think Rick Pitino was still saying "Kevin Ware is just a little rusty" for awhile.
