IUBB vs WSU Postgame :( Thread

What about Robert Johnson? What about Collin Hartman? Stan Robinson as bad as he played this year is a great talent. Juwan Morgan has me really excited too. I think it is way too early to write off JBJ/Troy and Emmit Holt I think is going to be a great player for us. There are a ton of recruiting targets out there that we are going after that could end up in candy stripes which is really exciting.

I said right in my post that getting to the tourney 3/7 is not acceptable for our program. We are better than that, but it is foolish to not take into account the fact that CTC took over a team with one scholarship player on it. But I will give you that it isnt acceptable. I just dont get the Chicken Little/world is ending attitude of what seems like our entire fan base.

Isn't really a world is ending mentality. Don't really get how anyone can have watched the last few years and thought we should be fine going forward with Crean.

Forgot about Colin and Rojo, though neither of them are really program changers. And Holt and JBJ just don't have the physical gifts to get to a level of extreme excitement for me. With Troy there has been so much talk of him leaving early and his eyes set elsewhere

I feel like everyone is suicidal right now with this team and CTC. But looking at next year, we have a chance to have a great team. We are in the running for a top 25 big guy(exactly what we need), we will get DD back which is a huge boost, and we will have a lot of returning talent. I will take that formula every time, I mean seriously if we hold on to most of everybody how could you not like that potential team? Would losing maybe all of that be worth getting a different coach that may or may not improve our situation? Another year under everyone's belt and some newcomers could turn this into a championship caliber team and we are acting like there is no hope and we have the worst coach in D1. Its mind boggling to me

i think as long as we keep Ctc we will be hit and miss no matter what talent he brings in. It was proven when he had the best team in the country two years ago and could not make the final four. Any coach that is good could've got this team in the ncaa as a ten seed or maybe better. The fact that calls our constantly not in our favor or even both ways means no ref has any respect for him as a coach. Defensively he is terrible. I fully believe u could give him all the talent in the world and he would find a way to get them to play to his coaching level. The body of work in his coaching career is there. Nothing suggest that he will be better next year maybe the players get better but the coaching will always be the same.

Well, if you thought this team would make a tremendous leap after losing their best player while being one of the youngest teams in college basketball, well then puff, puff pass and don't Bogart what your smoking.

Great. Someone disagrees and just resorts to the personal jab. Love that

Why is everybody saying Yogi is gone? Where is he going? Leaving college early for an overseas pro career or second round no pay draft pick? He is one of the best Players IU has ever had, but not NBA caliber...yet.

I think they are saying yogi could be gone cuz he will graduate and will be able to go to another college as a graduate student to play if he chooses too. I can't see him doing that unless he doesn't like what he sees in offseason

So what would be good enough? It sounds like you want to have a bunch of one and done talent on this team.

We ran into a nightmare matchup in Syracuse and you know what? If we actually could have hit a few shots that game it would have been a different story. Never understood how that one fell on CTC. We shot 33% from the floor and 20% from 3. And would any coach in the country get Yogi or JBJ or Troy to Bloomington? You are ignoring his best qualities(recruiting) and highlighting the bad only. Of course he needs to grow as a coach just like a player should grow his skills, but I feel like he is so over criticized it is almost unbelievable.

We chucked up a lot of contested shots. Absolutely no effort to get the ball in the middle. Absolutely none. Zeller was never involved. Crean is really poor at all the X's and O's.

After watching this game, I began to wonder. Maybe the problem is not Crean. Maybe the players really are not listening to what he is telling them. At 30 or so seconds to go, he was on the sideline pleading for them to foul, and they let 10 or so seconds slip by before they did it. To me today you could really see a BIG difference in the way the 2 teams played. IU seemed to be more about getting their own shot, where Wich played off of each other. Oh well, wait till next year.

If the problem is "maybe the players really are not listening to what he is telling him", then the problem IS Crean.

Nightmare of a matchup? He is the coach that has to put his team in position to win that's coaching. The matchup is no excuse when u have the better team. I'm glad that Crean was giving the Iu job he brought us out of a bad place I just think he has taken the program as far as he ever will. Maybe no other coach would've got yogi or jbj or Troy maybe they would've got better players who knows that. I just think it's unfair to the players busting their butt to have their coach constantly getting out coached or place the blame on them when they lose.

I agree but...I think the refs saw WS just make good strong moves under control generally and the Hoosiers just charging ahead at times and were not calling fouls as a result.

thats true but that call at the end on zeisloft with his hands straight up was just a travesty.

I'm exhausted and not even surprised with this loss at all. Not sad at all. That is the worst part. Indifference is setting deeper!

Yep, apathy setting in big time.If you thought the crowds were thinner in the hall this season wait till next year if this staff's still in place.

The haunted Hall of hoops wont be a Halloween event it'll be the normal atmosphere.

Ghost Town

.Then maybe Glass will get a clue.

Man, that just hurt. The boys looked like they were fighting to get over the slump of the past two months. Just a terrible way to end the season.

Obviously they weren't fighting hard enough. Ending the season by losing 10 of 15 is hardly getting over a slump. Sounds more like right smack dab in the throes of it. That's like saying Vinko Bogataj was getting over a little snow and ice on the ski jump. The results of both were eerily similar.

Hoosier Hysteria was lite this year. Next year will be UGLY....

Unless Thon & Bryant are there. Then there will be a top 25 preseason ranking and lines will be out the door. We can complain all we want, but the a large segment of HOOSIERS are around we are good, and disappear when we are not.

I've got plenty of traffic reports for this site that proves that theory.
