New arena would be nice, but AH really is an arena like no other. Between a nice new facility like Cook Hall, and the renovations coming to Assembly Hall, I don't see why a recruit would be deterred by our facilities situation. I mean have you guys seen the renderings of the south lobby? It's going to look NOICE.

I'm 16, and I love the nostalgic, traditional factor of assembly hall, but like a friend of mine says, the big time recruits want flashy and new, not tradition.

 

I'm not sold on a new arena being a difference maker for recruits...

I agree we need a new stadium,but not because of recruiting. We've gotten his recruits with AH.

A good on court product will make a bigger difference with recruits.

That wasnt meant to bash Crean. Im just saying that the kids dont run off because of Assembly Hall. Its not a bad place to play. I enjoy going there.

I'm just scared to death that if we do decide to replace Assembly Hall that we will end up with a mediocre run of the mill arena. It seems that so much of the tradition and lore surrounding Indiana is tied into Assembly Hall. Playing anywhere else just seems wrong.

We can't rebuild an arena as steep and intense as the Hall. There are laws now. I don't want a boring wide stadium like Banker's Life. I like how you can hear everything the crowd says when you're on the floor.

I wish we would channel Allen Fieldhouse, or Hinkle and play 1-2 games a year in a renovated Wildermuth Center (hyper). Does anyone else feel the same?

Play one year in Wildermuth while they tear down the old Assembly Hall and build a new one in the same place. I'm one of those traditiinalists, but we need a facility like Bankers Life down the road. Now that is an awesome facility. Sell old blocks of Assembly for a fund raiser.

I really hope we don't go to a pro style arena.  Keep it on the campus and keep it as a college venue.
