nobody should get tired of reading the same crap over and over again because it is usually relevant and it revolves around iu basketball and usually there opinion on what is wrong with it. I think iu is the reason there not on here people are only going to take so much before they give up. I dont think as many are on 247 after this loss either. I can't figure out why anybody is mad about a thread. Just read the title if you dont think you will like it then dont read it. It is simple. If everyone wants to have a happy basketball and football board to go on and communicate with fellow fans then I suggest finding a different school to cheer for or waiting till this one is fixed cause nobody should be happy right now lol.


See, I agree with just about everything that is being said. That doesn't mean I want to come to a place where after every single loss the same posters think they need to articulate the same point over and over. Like Reb said, there is suppose to be a balance between the two sides, instead both sides think they need to dominate the board. That isn't the way it is suppose to work

I am excited for the day when most are happy and everyone is discussing how great iu is doing. I think that day will come again just not sure when. I will say when the team has played great this season a lot of the negative posters have had nice things to say and after the latest dissapointment some of the biggest sunshine pumpers have said some negative things so to me its been fair imo. I am on a couple different boards and to me this one is by far the best. They are all good vs evil but this one has the best discussions imo.

Thanks ch! I know it can get very annoying, but it does get hard to moderate someone for being annoying. If we did that..... I will just leave it at that. We are trying to make a stronger stance in over obsessiveness with Crean topics, which get very annoying. We are trying to funnel them into one or two threads, or let that person know to tone it down. It's a very thin line because they aren't breaking the rules, but after while it hurts the board.

 

My advice is keep it civil and move on. No reason to beat a topic to death in every post or thread.

Its probably some of both. However, your point is taken, and hopefully with an additional mod staff, we can cut this crap down some where everyone can enjoy this board. There has to be room for the Negative Nancies and the Sunshine Pumpers both, but both sides can show some respect and consideration by just letting some things pass, and not repeating the same crap over and over. Trust me, I get tired of reading thread after thread of the same crap, by the same people. I'm sure everybody else does too.

Sunshine pumpers still exist after the Northwestern loss? Kidding...sort of.

Speaking only for myself, not being very active on message boards has nothing to do with not being a hardcore fan. It's that the conversation on boards has been the same thing for the better part of two years. Everything always gets back to one subject: Crean. And, everything that can possibly be said about that subject has been said a thousand times over.

When there are new subjects worthy of discussion, people will post more.

I agree with you to a great point. But even when someone is correct on a point they are trying to make, nobody wants to listen to a broken record. On the other hand, you are also correct about people feeling they need to crash threads. Its just a matter of some restraint and a little respect. Happy would probably be too much to ask for except for occasional periods after great wins and accomplishments. Neither of which we are seeing at the moment. And it would be a unreasonable to expect a happy board after losses to Purdue and NW. People are going to vent. But they don't have to take thread after thread off topic with the same rant over and over. The ability (or lack of ability) of CTC as a coach is a legitimate discussion and there are threads for that discussion. Those who don't like them, should just stay out of them.

Being an admin for a Pacers group of 2,000+ I fully understand having to make sure the sunshine pumpers and negative nancy's can all get along, as well as the realists. We have to add 4 or 5 admins ourselves so we keep things plenty under control. Congrats to all the new mods here, really enjoy this site.

The Raw Material looks pretty good but the Manufacturing leaves a lot to be desired! :(

Exactly. Been a hardcore fan since I was in 7th grade and this is the first year that I have to actually stop watching some games. Frustrates me to no end
