We played a bad Nebraska team and Illinois without their best player... I would like to see "heart" at MSU or PU or tonight at Wiscy.

There have been games this season when the team played with tremendous heart and other games when they just seemed to be going through the motions ( except for Yogi who has tried to win a few on his own late in games ).

 

It's been a maddening roller coaster ride. Considering how the season began ( with Devin's injury ), I think the team has grown in maturity. I think Crean has as well. He has shown more flexibility in his coaching than I thought he was capable of before. Am I pleased as punch about IUBB these days? No, but I do see positives.

I actually think they showed heart in the Rutgers game.

They didn't play well but they played hard.Last year that game is a home loss.

Everyone seems to think that unless you blow someone out, you were fooling around, not playing hard, not prepared etc etc etc.

So you're just out to discredit anything good this team does. If you want to refuse the fact that they played hard in these games, you're going to be impossible to reason with.

Played with a lot of "heart" those last 7-8 minutes which translated to defensive stops on like 8 of 10 possessions or something. Playing with "heart" and playing good D seem to go hand in hand.

Heart is digging in and doing the little things that keep a would-be blowout close or a poorly played near home loss into a narrow victory.

Keeping it close against Wisconsin tonight will show heart, winning it is an AJ Moye-esque total team effort.

It was embarrassing but so was the performance in the second half. -17 I think in one half of play. I think people could have lived with a hard fought loss but that was far from it. We rolled over

Overall these guys have played much harder compared to last season. Second half Louisville, MSU and PU were very poor IMO. Except for Yogi.

Actually we got knocked back on our heels from the get go at Mich St.

Played better second half but not good enough to recover.

We did play better in the second half. We actually matched or surpassed teams in scoring in those games. However, the damage was already complete. It shows that the change in plans at the half was beneficial. What we need is an immediate ~ plan #2 or #3 that we can convincingly convert to if we are getting our butts knocked in the first period. just my humble opinion....

I find it ironic that Richard Pitino stands at 3-7 with Minnesota considering his recommendation for Rick to acquire Kenny Johnson was like having a large tree limb fall across our driveway when it comes to recruiting.  I'm very happy with job that Chuck Martin has done in resurfacing and cleaning up that area.  I must say he is off to a solid start laying the proper foundation bringing Holt for our recruiting momentum to spiral onward and upward.  I like the variety of facial expressions that the lad Emmit Holt brings to the table.  Forget about the wingspan, ability to defend ...ability to get to the rim & charity stripe ....  and all that other stuff.  The facial expressions are just marvelous.
