IU vs Pitt Official Post Game Thread

Recommended Posts

The pace of play creates the need for more than 8.

Watch the body language of the players when they're pulled, they don't seem to be needing it. In fact, I can't recall a player tugging on a jersey or raising a hand for a break. You may be right. Maybe they aren't gassed BECAUSE they get subbed out so much. Either way, Crean and Coach Jackson have these guys in elite shape.

Holt baby!! I love love love!! Dude is all around the ball. When he can't get the board he is softly tapping it away from the opponent to keep it alive. I wamted him starting the 2nd half but Perea played a good game also and no need to mess up something working.

So unselfish of a team other than troy and stan REFUSE to give the rock up once they get it, no matter the circus shot needing to be created.

Hartman is the real deal?

And kudos to the crowd. That was great

amazing coaching get by Crean and staff. The only head scratcher was Burton in the first half. There is no reason to do anything but rotate holt and perea. Nothing

61% from the stripe is UNACCEPTABLE. Forget the "we make more than our opponents shoot" mantra. Just make the freebies that you get. Not making those FTs is giving points away.

Troy was out of control a lot tonight, and Stan should still be in the locker/film room. Holt stepped up huge tonight.

Over all, not a bad effort!

Troy is great at cleaning up junk around the rim but other than that......that shot he took dribbling across the lane at full speed turning sideways and throwing it up was terrible and outta control for sure.

I'd still keep Max in there

I like him too, but I'm not sure if the sum of what he brings would warrant him being in instead of Hartman. Hartman is a man out there. He reminds me, to a lesser degree, of Robbie Hummel.

thought burton playing was odd as well. Have to assume he's been busting it in practice and this was his reward.

Dont know if this was covered yet but radio post game fisher asked crean about holt and he didnt say anything nice went with how great hanner started second half. In my book hanner did start good but holt still should have started second half and deserves major credit for the win tonight

Going to keep tooting my own horn on this one. I TOLD you guys to give Hartman a chance. :)

The guy couldn't practice because his knee was still swelling a week before the season started. I honestly didn't think he'd see the floor this year. His play has been nothing short of amazing so far considering the injury.

Yeah I mean he was a candidate to get "Creaned" according to the pre-season threads and I just thought it was way too early to say that considering he's only a sophomore.

I liked the ball movement the desire to play hard and hustle. I liked everything about the game except for giving to many open threes but they were not hitting to many so no big deal. I really think holt has potential to b a star here and pray we see that come true. I just did not like crean not giving holt his due and changing topics

Didn't mind Burton in the game.  He seems to understand the game and plays fairly well defensively and goes for the rebound.  He may very well be needed to buy a couple minutes here and there for the few bigs IU has.  If Devin Davis was still in the mix, Burton would not see the floor except in mop up minutes.  He is a juinor with two years of college ball experience at Bellarmine, a pretty good DII program,

great point...

he's playing the way to keep from being Creaned, and it's quickly making him a Hoosier favorite.
