So who's going to be the new Coach next year?

Recommended Posts

I think you know what he's trying to say, but nice deflection.

Crean apologists crack me up by acting like people are fed up with Crean because of any single game.

The apologists always ignore that coaches like Williams and K and Calipari have more leniency, and deservedly so, because they've been pretty darn successful.  Crean doesn't have the leniency they do because his track record doesn't warrant it.

What you guys in SEC country are saying is causing me to rethink the idea that Donovan is off the board for IU. Let IU make him a great of$er and show him that IU fans live for Hoosier basketball. Maybe he will come. It's an exciting possibility.

Hell, let me handle the negotiations. I can get Eddie Fogler on the horn, have him contact Donovan's agent, then get down to business. Nobody's hurt and we are just talking. Kinda of a get to know you phase. I would show him Cook Hall photos and I tell you; he's ours to lose. In fact, his last collegiate loss was against us in the quarterfinals of the final four in 87. Then, after he's talking, you let Stevens agent know another coach of top pedigree has expressed interest. Are you interested? Boom, before you know it you may have my top 2 choices worried they may miss their true, destination job. Play these two until either says yes and make it known to them that first accepted gets the gig. You have contracts, pay accepted in principal and wait for them to be eliminated. Once they are, you make a pressor saying IU is parting ways with Crean. One day later you announce the new head coach. Sign me up McRobbie; I promise to not screw it up like the last 3 AD's.

I like the way that you think. This is a man with a plan...sign him up.

And if that's the case we might be better off keeping the grass we have and fertilizing it until it grows up to be the grass we all want?

OR---we can keep cutting down the grass we have and pouring gas on it until we kill it----and then look for new grass only to have to repeat the same lawncare maintenance schedule in just a few years.

I would love to fertilize that grass until it matures and is a very beautiful shade of crimson grass (what?!).  However, what happens if that grass is unwilling to grow from the fertilizer being used?

Then I think we have to take a weedwacker to it!  Our lawn should not be barren for 2 years in a row in a yard well-known for it's great grass over the years.  If we don't see very green (or cream and crimson) grass by the end of this season---then I will also be wanting to find a new groundskeeper--and new grass!

OK--I started this--- but it is just getting strange!

And how do you suggest, IF the grass fails to grow throughout the season, the grass be removed?

Getting wins won't cut it. Crean got wins in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 so then the complaint is that we didn't make it past the Sweet Sixteen. Valid complaints. But if you going to try to tell me we aren't a demanding fan base, then we aren't going to be able to agree. I didn't compare us to other fan bases, I said we are very demanding. I can't speak for other fan bases.

Those two years were good. On the right track. But the really good coaches don't have two bad years like we had last year and where we are predicted this year. Is this that hard to see?

Everybody was ecstatic 11-12 not so the next because we should have won more and gone further in the tournament. Winning is the name of the game and that's it. It's not too much to ask and that's not demanding it's expected for being the highest paid person in Indiana.

If Brad Stevens were to leave Boston for IU, what, if any, players would follow him? It would be nice to pick up Rajon Rondo to pair with Yogi in the backcourt.

Hahaha yes. Just yes.

What could have been if he didn't wear the enemies colors.

From my perspective we would need to dig up the old grass---roots and all---and either re-sod with all new grass (but never with bluegrass from Kentucky)---or go all in and get a special ordered artificial surface or grass that would be very expensive---but solve our recent grass problems once and for all!

The key question is what type of grass to get----I am not sold on Alfordgrass  or even Stevensgrass---and I am not interested in new-- up and coming grasses.  I would do something crazy and spend the money to buy CoachKgrass ---and reunite with our grasses of old---including Knightgrass. It needs to be a homerun grass or we might as well stick with Creangrass because we could sure do a lot worse.

The grass saga continues.

Alright!  No better pizza in the world.

True story about how old I am. I remember writing a check for like $5.25 for a small Mother Bears pizza delivered including a 2 liter Coke. Tip not included of course, but it could feed me and my girlfriend nicely after an evening of partying IU style. It was loaded with meat and cheese; just an awesome pizza. Certainly nothing we have down south. Pizza here consists of Pizza Hut and you know the rest. Not even a Pizza King.
