So who's going to be the new Coach next year?

Recommended Posts

I'm just about on board now. I'm about fed up with this crap. How many top recruits do we have on the team now?

Wow, you're pretty tolerant, what's it gonna take to push you over the ledge? Crean hasn't proven he can coach...and it's his 7th freaking season here! Come on over, Crean is done after this season anyway.

While I appreciate the blind optimism it's much worse than being discussed here. Crean is not the answer....obviously. There is NO coach who can fix this in a few years (that would want to come here that is) including almighty Brad. We don't have the pull or horses anymore...but the worst part is we think we do. When this goes down the true pain begins fellas. 5-7 years of hell all over again as door mats. (Bottom 3 in big ten). Gather your rations and prepare accordingly.

Don't kid yourself, the program is not in as bad as shape as it was when Crean got here, a proven coach can turn this around sooner than you think.

Lol I get that a lot actually. But yea, this is the ceiling for Indiana basketball now. That may be fine for many schools but I hate to admit that we really just are another school now. I really thought we were headed back to the blue bloods but there is no chance of that with Crean. The dude just doesn't have it. Great guy and I wish him the best.

It hit me when the crowd was so weak against smu, then lamar, then tonight was pathetic.

I think that means Hoosier Nation has spoken.

As I stated in the off-season---Crean has this year to turn it around for me or I am ready for change.  No reason IU can't win with 2 burger boys and a bunch of 4 stars.   One loss does not mean that much---especially this early in the season.  But if they start mounting----Crean will be packing.   I still hope he gets it turned around as he has improved so many parts of the program---but I have to admit I am starting to wonder too.

.

List me 5 proven coaches who would come here and I would agree. It's not happening. Pickings are as slim as they have been in 20 years for "proven" head coaches. Getting rid of Crean is the only easy part. We should just be ready for the aftermath instead of thinking some magical turn around happens when Crean hits the road....it's just the beginning

Dude, this is Indiana. We're in a hotbed state of basketball talent. It's not going to be hard to get a good coach here to clean up the mess Crean has made. The only reason coaches avoided us last time were Sampson's stinking sanctions. Crean took on the challenge, but has failed.

Dude, I get it. I'm just being real. I hope some miracle coach I haven't thought of appears and takes us to the promise land the next year.

Brads not coming unless he is in the 7 mill range. Not happening. Just a note. The lakers and Minnesota are only the two teams worse than the celtics in team d. Stop hanging hat on him because it feels good.

Stevens salary with the Celtics is about $3.6 Million. Crean is currently making about $3.16 Million. It definitely doesn't have to be in the 7 million range for him to come. I think its less about the money and more if he would want to leave the NBA so soon.

I'll give you 3 options. (Pro, college, up and comer)
Give Brad Stevens whatever he wants.
If we stick to only college coaches Gregg Marshall is top notch.
Up and comer Danny Manning!

Like I said. Brad is not coming and the other two, while strong up and coming, it's a 5 year plan when they step on campus period. Would be interesting to watch though!

when Crean took over we had walk-ons and low rated 3 star players, and we were the number 1 team in the country in his 5th year. How do you figure a coach who walks in to a team with a couple of Mcdonalds all americans and other highly rated kids with experience would need 5 years.
