Isn't it great that the conversation has changed from will he live----to will he ever walk and function normally again----to will he ever play basketball again----to when will he return to the team????

 

I know one thing----I will never count DD out---he has defied the odds and expectations many times over!

I know at the end of last year Devin was really coming on and becoming a major asset to the team.

You never know,this could wind up with him being even more resolute to kick peoples rears.Hes one tough dude.

One third of the season is past. I feel DD would be better off, for many reasons, not to return this season. Just get healthy Devin.

This is total speculation on my part, I have no source or inside knowlege, my belief is if we are making a push for the NCAA tourney we'll likely see Davis return. If we are struggling and not likely to make it-redshirt.

Redshirt! Redshirt! Redshirt!    I want him back as much as anybody else, but he's already missed basically 1/3 of the season.  His conditioning is shot and he's had no opportunity to develop any 6th sense with his new teammates in the sense of anticipating what they're going to do in a given situation.  Also, his shooting touch has to be rusty.  And does anyone really know what his standing is with the university?  Once he's cleared, how many minutes do you realistically expect him to play over several games?  So now we're over halfway through the season.  Is it really that important to have Devin lose an entire year of eligibility to MAYBE play some minutes for less than half a season?  Not for me it isn't, but then I'm old and cranky.

Agreed - no point in "wasting" a year of playing ball to just come in log 5 or 10 minutes here or there.
