Devin Davis Updates

Recommended Posts

Wow---a true miracle---DD just continues to amaze with his progress!

Great to hear he is now doing basketball drills.  I still don't see him back on the court this season--- but nothing would surprise me.

I believe he was poised for a break-out year as he had worked so hard in the off season and was strong in Canada.

Who knows---may be a little more of that Christmas Miracle is in store for DD and Hoosier Nation sooner than we think!

Continued prayers!

Say whaaaat???!!!? Is this possible?
(Also note that this isn't an official iubb account nor a sports writer), but has anyone heard anything about a return?

@IUbball: Devin Davis could have a big impact for #iubb. Should only be a few games away.

Not buying it. Looks like that guy is a rambling fan on twitter. Hope he's right though.

@ZachOsterman: #iubb RT @DevinDavisSr: Back at it to night. Loving his work ethic. http://t.co/MJDsPYPpOM

he's looking really good. If I'm remembering some of his tape from before the accident, he still looks like he's working back to his full speed.

I was as exited about Devin this season as much or more than any player on the squad.

His playing time and productivity had both increased dramatically towards the end of last year.

He brings a warrior type mentality to the floor and wont be backed down .We miss that as we speak.

The fact hes working hard to get back isn't a surprise as that's what he's all about.

I know what he did was foolish but its impossible for me not to be proud .

Keep up the work Devin. You'll be back in no time.

An interesting possibility for next years team is to be able to ring post match ups that work in our favor. With a lineup of Davis, Williams, and Perea (or insert Hartman in there) you could use the swing or flex or simply down screen or back cut to get favorable match ups into the post. It looks more and more like Williams and Davis and Hartman will have to be guarded out to the three point line. If Perea can prove that he has to be guarded out to 17 our spacing will be incredible with all the other shooters on the floor. That means we will be able to pick which guy to post and take advantage of that each game for a stretch or two (ala Wisconsin).

To me it looks like Davis has been working on guard skills and the ability to score it from 15-20 feet out.

After hanner hitting a few 15 footers on the baseline early on, I'm not sure why that stopped. If he has to be respected on a 15 foot jumper on the baseline, that opens up quite a bit for us.

he's missed his last 4-6 or so tried on that shot. It's not falling. Only tries about 1 per game at most but it's still in the arsenal, he just can't knock it down

He is going to school but has not yet practiced with the team.

OK---you know things---share---inquiring minds want to know!  Pretty please!

There had to be a medical release/clearance for him to start doing individual BBall drills---the question is how far does that clearance go---does it allow him to practice with the team again if IU and the family consent?
