Does anyone have the stats for DD during the Canadian trip last year?

8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.4 turnovers, 1.2 assists, 0.6 blocks, 0.6 steals in 21.4 minutes per game.

He had one REALLY impressive game but also disappeared in a one or two of them. For example in their first game of the Canada trip he had 16 rebounds in 19 minutes. But the next night he had only 3 rebounds in 22 minutes. Crean's biggest takeaway from the Canada trip was Devin's potential and the need for consistency

Holy cow though on that rebounding.  Thats why he needs to be paired with Bryant though.

I fully expect Devin to come back and be a monster if not this season, next season. He was just scratching the surface last summer and in the time I saw him, the surface was even glorious.

Davis two years ago and Holt last year struck me as very similar players (no pun intended in the "struck" comment). They're both guys who play under the basket and who go hard for rebounds. They're also about the same size and rely on physicality rather than finesse.  I reiterate a point that's been made several times on this board: is there really room for playing time on the 2015-2016 team for two guys like this, considering Hartman, Morgan and others all fall into a similar size category (and Hanner, albeit a little taller, is similar in playing style in that he has no outside game)? I know it's a very pleasant problem to have, but it screams "redshirt somebody" to me.

no way Crean has DD and Bryant on the floor at same time...that would be like playing Hanner and Hotz at the same time...can't have that.... :wink:

I think Devin actually has an outside jump shot and has decent handles, compared to Emmit.

You're okay with redshirting someone who could be a contributor on a top 10-15 team? Emmitt and Devin should both be able to contribute a little bit. Everyone is going to have to deal with less playing time next year, but each person brings their own skill sets and intangibles to the game. They will all have to sacrifice for the team to have success, similar to Kentucky (I hate saying this, but they were extremely unselfish). If we're gonna redshirt anyone, I'd want it to be Juwan. Devin and Emmitt both have experience in the B1G and could be huge for our team next year. Devin, if he comes back close to where he was last summer, could arguably be a starter if we don't go with 4 guards. There were plenty of people speculating him as a starter last offseason, and especially after his showing in Canada.
