LazOffTheBench Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Does Morgan like humidity? We can only hope so. Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Nashville is not any better weather-wise! Humid there too! Are academics the only Vandy draw--or is there some other connection? LazOffTheBench 1 Quote
BGleas Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I would assume playing time would be a factor. While we definitely need help on the interior, at the same time we have Hanner with 1 more year, Devin with 2 more, Troy Williams with potentially 2 more and Holt with 3 more, once Howard would get on campus. There's also Max who could project as a stretch 4 at times. Plus, you know we'll land at least one highly recruited forward in 2016. I'm assuming at Vandy lots of early playing time is more likely. Nashville is not any better weather-wise! Humid there too! Are academics the only Vandy draw--or is there some other connection? rebelhoosier848891 1 Quote

Oh boy. Here rolls the PT excuse. If PT were the end all, be all, no Elite program would ever land a recruit. They are all full of great players, better than DD and Max Hoetzel. No offense intended BGleas, but the PT excuse is getting very old. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Quote

Josh Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Your man crush for for him has blinded you when you actually believe what he's doing is right or works. When somebody thinks something that Crean is doing is right, it's because they're blinded? Wow....who's truly the blinded one here? shortspacequickness 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Nashville is not any better weather-wise! Humid there too! Are academics the only Vandy draw--or is there some other connection? The other connection is Juwan has a long time girlfriend. Not sure he wants to go too far from home. I think this plays a factor. Total conjecture based on one look at his twitter account. UL, Arizona, Duke, OSU, UK recruiting shows more and more the playing time thing is overblown. Crean plays ALL his players even the ones that don't deserve it. However, some want 35 minutes instead of 15. Not all recruits want the same thing. Quote

BGleas Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 First, show me where I said it's the "end all be all"? It is a factor whether you like it or not. As someone else said, every kid is different and has different factors. But to dismiss playing time as one factor is simply naive by you. I'll take it from personal experience. I was recruited by low level D1 schools and D2 schools and chose a D2 school. One, not the only, but one factor was I knew I could go D2 and compete to start as a freshmen (I ended up being a 4-year starter), but at the D1 level I'd probably have to fight for regular minutes by my junior year. Is PT really something another program can offer that we cannot? We have a need for guys who can compete down low. The way Crean substitutes you know he will get time. I do not understand how PT could be a realistic factor for us. Now had it been two years ago I would see it but we had no postseason play last year. We are considered by many to be a mid to lower team in the BT this year. We have not added any high end bigs yet. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
shortspacequickness Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Am I the only one who doesn't want Morgan? Seems redundant. Doubt he's better than a junior Devin Davis or sophomore E. Holt. Quote
