IU vs Texas Southern Post Game Thread

Any thoughts on why Crean doesn't empty the bench during lopsided games? Maybe reduce the chance of an injury to a starter.

It could not have gotten any sloppier, that’s for sure.

I am curious, though about Mike Davis. What kind of reception did he get when he entered AH?

Yogi, Rob, and JBJ will be here next season. Which is why im concerned about being oversigned by 2.

Priller and a surprise candidate will probably transfer. I'm more concerned about Crean adding more players to that class and purging the roster again.

Kind of looked to me like Crean was forcing them to run mostly half court sets tonight instead of letting them play within the flow of the game amd it stagnated the fellas. Kind of like not letting them take what the game was giving.

I'm just thrilled with Perea right now. Now let's see what he is like against SMU

My feeling is that we left about ten or twelve points on the board by not finishing well and/or turning it over just before having a chance at a really good look...beyond that, offensively I thought we simply didn't cut with purpose tonight...we cut when we think that we will get a good look out of it, but not when it is about getting the next guy open because we cut through to open up the defense...

I also thought we were about ten points bad on defense, a few times we were caught between while switching defenses to the zone or hybrid late in the shot clock which led to really easy opportunities for them...Texas Southern shot better than I expected and probably better than they usually do.

also, ridiculous to get out rebounded against a low D1

so, if we have those points in each direction we feel like we played really well and are ready for thursday. The small things will mean so much for this team going forward....

Somebody said in the game thread that they wanted to see Yogi throw that lob until his arms fall off. This is the second game when he tried that alley-oop lob and failed miserably.

I’m not a huge fan of that play, but if you’re going to do it, at least give the man a good lob. Then it’s up to him if he makes or blows it.

Not sure if he doesn't know how to play d can't play d or doesn't want to play d

Defense is typically the hardest part for freshman to translate to the next level. When you take a guy who was very mediocre in high school on that end, it's going to take a while to get him to an effective level. I don't think it's so much an issue of will at this point though that may have had something to do with it at the high school level.

Some people who saw the team over the summer mentioned some improvement in that area, but it could be a liability for some time. Each game will help, imo.

I mean it is a nice dunk. But he took three HUGE steps without even remembering that dribbling was part of the game

dude..if he would have dribbled...some poor soul in the 4th row behind the basket would have been robbed a chance to hold a big head in the 2nd half...
