(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

Recommended Posts

Uk has an clog of centers .. Mizzou is terrible.. They have 7 wins.. We have no quality big men and we're looking at a 20 win season and can't get a big man.. I'm puzzled..

I'm surprised as the next person we can't get a stud 5* center but even a 4* defensive minded center would be a huge help... Doesn't look like that is even an option

I think marque bigs want to play where they will be a featured  part of the offense.

They can probably watch 2 or 3 games of ours and see that's not the case here.

As many post players Ky have they still get more touches and PT than the 2 bigs we have now.

They play thru the post almost every play.

We had Cody Zeller and he wouldnt touch the ball for 6 or 7 minute stretches sometimes.

sad but true. I just think a guy like GO would still come. To be the starting center for IU as a freshmen on what has the chance to be a pretty good team seems enticing nevertheless

Edit: even if we don't feature them, they would have a great opportunity given the great shooters on the court. They couldn't afford to double him

Wow and still #4 in the draft, if only he demanded the ball more. Come on big guys showcase your skills, the middle is wide open at IU.

He was going to play in the NBA regardless where he went to school .

You can post and demand all day long but guards have to be willing to make the pass instead of dribbling around and jacking up 3's

Ok fair enough. Where were the prominently featured UK bigs in that draft?

I'm not glorifying UK if thats what you think.I cant stand them but Nerlens Noel would have been No 1 had he not been hurt and went 6th anyway.

I watched every game that Cody and Vonleh played while they were here and I saw multiple games where they posted and had their defender sealed begging for the ball only to get looked off for a bad jump shot. TV announcers were even yelling throw him the ball.To say they were the ones totally at fault in being under utilized tells me someones not really watching or are so in love with this system they choose to ignore what their seeing.

I dont think Cody was any better as a sophomore than he was a frosh.Stronger for sure, but not much better as a player. If we develop bigs so much how come we cant get one to come when we are so glaringly in need of one? They should be beating the door down to get in to play for such a developer of bigs.

goodluck okonobo who went to UNLV. Doesn't do much on offense other than set screens and get put backs but is a real force on D. Great **** blocker. Would have been great for IU and was supposedly coming here until last minute

Thanks.Missed the abbreviation. He would have been a good one.

In my mind, we make by far the most sense, but four things can kill us:
1) The distance
2) The head coach relationship at Mizzou is stronger than we all think
3) Bryant isn't interested or capable of playing in a fast paced system
4) The legal issues of the past year

Honestly cannot see how Mizzou could pull this kid. I don't know that one coach could convince a kid to jump into a dumpster fire reeking of loses and behavior issues, with very little promise of changing anytime soon.

It's not as serious as it's being made out to be. UK is the threat
