Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 He is now a top 10 paid coach. Top 20 I could see easily but top 10 wow. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
Uspshoosier Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 He is making double than what he was at OSU. Sure a raise was probably coming tho. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile appOklahoma st low balled him and said they would renegotiate if he won during year. AD never renegotiated with him and after the loss he headed to Illinois and more then doubled his salary. He was only making 1 mil Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Class of '66 Old Fart and Yogi's Picnic Basket 2 Quote

If that is true I dont blame the guy. 1 million after the year they had when many didnt even expect an NIT berth. AD is at fault for his move not him. Dont think OSU would have went that high for him though. Gotleib said a few weeks ago 2 or 2.5 is the most he could see them going.Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
pumpfake Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I think this will prove to have been a great hire for ILL. The quality of coaching in the B10 just improved and hopefully will do so even more sometime in the next 6 weeks or so.... Quote
Hoosier Guy Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 If Underwood can recruit Chicago, the Illini are going to reap the benefits. I don't believe he's a great coach, but he's obviously a good one. Chicago is important for having the Illinois job. It's kind of like how the state of Indiana is important for having the IU job HooHooHoo22 1 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 With Northwesterns emergence may be harder than expected. Plus If we get Lando we should do nicely there Quote
hoosierdogg Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 FWIW - Ole Miss beat Syracuse in the NIT today, and Belmont beat Georgia in the first round. If the Hoosiers had defeated Georgie Tech, they could be playing Belmont tomorrow in Assembly Hall. And if they could have won that game, they could have played Ole Miss in AH as well. The way the NIT is shaking out, IU could have played three games in Assembly Hall. Quote
OliviaPope40 Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Butler has to play UNC if UNC wins and they will and I think Butler will have some matchup problems. Quote
pumpfake Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 OK State would be a tremendous destination for FCTC. It's a football school and would be a much lower pressure atmosphere. Pickens is quite generous to his Alma mater and that could be great for him (and indirectly us). Thirdly, it's a team that succeeded with lots of offense and little defense this past season, tailor made situation IMHO. And finally, brother-in-law John could use family visits as an excuse to scout the football team and it's opponents. Josh 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Sounds like the LSU job is about to be filled. VCU head coach Will Wade has had discussions with LSU about replacing Johnny Jones and has emerged as one of the frontrunners for the job, sources told ESPN. Wade, 34, has been the head coach of the Rams for two seasons, taking over when Shaka Smart left for Texas in 2015. VCU is 51-20 under Wade, making back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. Wade was also the head coach at Chattanooga for two seasons, going 40-25 overall and 27-7 in the Southern Conference. Wade began his coaching career at Clemson as a graduate assistant and director of basketball operations from 2005-07, before spending time as an assistant coach at Harvard and VCU. Quote
