KingPG21 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 UK fans have to be terrified at the chance that they could play an elite defensive team in the tourney, Cause there is no chance they'd beat them. If they can't score, they aren't winning. Napleshoosier 1 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app He will leave for a high major, but he said he will only leave for a school that can compete at the top of the conference. So he isnt going to go to Iowa or Bama. However, I could see him at schools like Ohio St, Indiana, Texas, UCLA, etc. He is from the Southeast, so maybe he gets closer to home if he decides he wants that. Quote

He is 53 and will turn 54 in a couple of weeks. Got a big raise after his final four run and didn't leave after his peak. He isn't leaving that school. He shouldn't either. It's comfortable. mdn82 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I understand Josh has wanted him for a few years bad. I respect that. There isn't many that do. Same as me with Holtman. I would put him near the top after the obvious neck and neck with Archie. Those 3 names aren't exciting many. I truly don't see Marshall going anywhere or he would have already. Solid for where he is. There just isn't an abundance of good young coaches with head coaching experience.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app KingPG21 1 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app I think Marshall is an improvement so I'd definitely take him, but he's not a home run hire IMO. More like a solid, pretty well hit double. He'd be on the call list, but a second group at best. mdn82 1 Quote

Was watching with my bro in law and said the exact same thing. They had a good defensive game but many possessions that were just beautiful basketball. Napleshoosier 1 Quote

It was rumored he showed interest in us a couple years ago but Fred didnt pull the trigger. He may stay at WSU but if a UNC, UCLA, or other bkue blood come calling..... Quote

AKHoosier Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 UK fans really upset with Monk for laughing and joking around on the bench while down 20 to UF. I noticed that too, that would not sit well with me if one of our guys did that. Crimson and Cream, HoosierAloha and Napleshoosier 3 Quote

Plus a blue blood is different than Texas and OSU you provided in your initial post. I highly doubt a blue blood goes after him. His best bet is an OSU or Texas you provided. I doubt he leaves. He wanted Texas before. They took the other mid-major darling in Shaka Smart. Not working out so far.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app It was after our 2 year disasterous run of off court issues and terrible play on the court. I tried sending you a pm but it says you cant recieve messages. I was using OSU as an example of a team that has good recruiting capabilities and cohod be open as soon as this year. Friend of mine is a son of a former player there. He seems to think Matta is gone barring a miracle. IUsafety and mdn82 2 Quote

I follow their boards occasionally, and a growing number of UK fans are starting to get restless with the kids Calipari is bringing in. They're getting tired of being a stepping stone to the NBA, and if Cal has an early tournament exit this year too, he may start to wear out his welcome. Quote

Wow, could you imagine if all of the B1G schools whose coaches are on the hot seat have new coaches next year? Indiana Illinois Ohio State Michigan Michigan is probably the least likely to make a change, but a growing number of their fans think his best days are behind him. Regardless, the B1G could look a lot different next season. Fun times. Stuhoo, Feathery and mdn82 3 Quote

Regardless, the B1G could look a lot different next season. Fun times.Michigan shouldn't make a change just yet. Belein has his Crean years with recruiting every so often and he can really coach. I would give him next year at least but I can see their frustration. OSU will have a rough time firing Matta but I do think he is done. It has been awhile since he recruited with the best. That event their in with UK, UCLA & UNC hasn't done much recruiting wise either like everyone on here thought it would for us. It is nice to use but Matta has ran outta tricks. Illinois has sucked for years so I see them giving it one more year so they don't lose their class. Us well yeah we need a new coach.Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
