There goes our NET!

I will never forget that 2 week stretch in November after we beat them by 6 where I thought that they might be a solid mid major that would compete for the top of the ASUN and could possibly help IUs NET as a sneaky good win………

and then they lost to Hampton and Norfolk St back to back and IU only beat Army by 8 and the rest they say is history.    Good times

Why do I pull my self into fanduel every few weeks???? I really thought NC state had this and Duke is pulling away quick here.

Dabbling in fanduel every now and then is fine. Just don’t go down my rabbit hole where I’ll be placing my 1500th college hoops bet this year sometime tomorrow.

During baseball playoffs I was betting on every game and hit big several times. I have not had much luck in cbb yet. Looking like I should have took Texas like I initially planned too dang it!

This is also a masterclass on why teams that don’t play a ton of zone probably shouldn’t. The communication is invariably bad and it really was here. Teams that run ocerloads pretty much all have some action at least sort of like this.

Looks like they were almost giving a 1-2-2 look there especially with how the bottom left defender came out to contest. Either way, well done job of shifting the defenders with passing and then screening the outside of the zone.

Similarly, when I was watching May’s team earlier the D went into a 2-3. The FAU guy went straight to the middle for a catch, and when he caught it he squared up and made a pass to the opposite side so far he almost made a poor pass. But it was evident they had been coached up well and knew exactly what to do when the other team tried to mix it up and play 2-3.

It helps if you have a team that can launch 3’s but I like the execution both of those squads display when I watch.

So, I don't know if I should be saying this given how negative I've been about student athletes at Indiana University in this forum, which may come back to bite me in the butt, but...

I'm going to be reporting on IU Indianapolis athletics for the Horizone Roundtable starting this off season.  One, because someone needs to, and two, it's a thankless task that I feel is worth the challenge given that it's hilarious that a school in such a large city has no press coverage.

Also at the bottom in the Q&A with Trilly, it's revealed that Trilly is one person and a LOT less people than I expected know who he really is. First I've seen of that.

I just kind of assumed most of the national writers and a bunch of CBB staffers know who it is.

That Trilly interview is very interesting

The last real Q/A is something I’ve been hammering just out of common sense and a little extrapolation.

There’s no real loyalty (ie “dream job” nonsense is subservient to all real considerations) and the conferences and NIL turmoil stuff could put a couple guys in play nobody mentions.  I’ve saw one thing mentioning Hurley which would be a coup for any school not named Kansas. I’ve personally said I would take a real hard stab at a guy like Bennett. Now supposedly Drew is gettable.

With the right administration IU is capable of pulling a whale. We’ll see what happens.
