Sounding like Stu's favorite Dennis Gates could be headed to Missouri.

Interesting. Talked to a pretty smart guy on Thursday who had the Drinkwitz hire a week before it was announced and he was convinced Mizzou wouldn’t move on anyone until they could talk to Matt McMahon. But Gates would, of course, be a terrific hire.

He’s not a great guy.

I suppose he’s an okay coach.

If true, pretty stunning in it’s lack of imagination and reach. Screams, “Yeah, we’re cool with a competent program.” A shame, that program has massive potential.

And he’s a flat out liar; outing his lack of integrity before he takes the Maryland job. How did he do this? When asked about the Maryland job by the media this was his response:

“I’ll give you exactly what I can tell you,” he said. “I have an agent who I haven’t talked to yet. I don’t know who he’s talking to, I have absolutely no idea. But when I get home tomorrow, I’ll talk to my agent and discuss things with my agent.”

The Under Armour founder (MD alum) left the company a couple years ago so the direct $$ funnel has diminished if not totally dried up.

Guess URI learned a lesson from us. Archie's buyout is $1 million.

Saw another story saying IU saves $3M by Archie getting the new gig. Makes me wonder: Does that money go back to the boosters who picked up the tab, or does it go into some general fund -- athletic or otherwise?

“I don’t comment on my job status. Next question?”
And coaches F it up all the time.

Instead? The first words out of his mouth are a lie.

I like that Woody won’t always comment, but I never feel like he’s lying.

Probably an under appreciated benefit of his NBA career is that Woody has been banged around by media and fans his entire career. Dude’s just not gonna take the bait. Most of these guys at that level are Nathan Jessup-types who are dying to say, “You’re g******ed right I did!” They can’t help themselves.

Does McMahon end up at one of the other SEC openings, then?
