Phinisee said his concussion really set him back. He said it was annoying not being able to remember certain things and not being able to do the things he normally does. He said last week was the first time he really felt like he was back to normal in terms of being able to do things on the court.

Texas Tech cruises past TCU.

I was curious about why it seems Texas Tech seems to be doing so well under second year coach Beard. I decided to take a look at their roster. They have 4 redshirt seniors, 3 are transfers, and 3 are 23 years old. That makes sense...

Brandon Francis (Florida) (23 years old)
Tariq Owens (St. John’s)(23 years old)
Matt Mooney (South Dakota)
Norense Odiase (23 years old)

Louisville seems to be jelling and doing well too. I decided to look into their roster makeup. I didn’t realize how many “old” players they have. Agau started at UL then transferred everywhere before returning while Sutton transferred after his freshman year.

Christen Cunningham (Samford) (23 years old)

I had heard about some of the transfers watching the game but didn’t realize how many transfers. I didn’t even think about how old they were.

Agau doesn't really play more than spot minutes but those other 4 see a lot of action... UofL fans were dreading this season coming into it but they got very good Grad Transfers in Cunningham & Fore.... if not for those 2 guys they would be struggling... they also have a lot of shooters on the roster....

If only our Grad Transfer would have worked out for what he was recruited for...

Definitely something to be said for age and experience in college basketball.

What it gets down to is the two can coach and recognize talent.  Check out Nevada.  Why do I keep thinking the "Island of Misfit Toys?"

Definitely something to be said for age and experience in college basketball.

He doesn’t play much but I imagine his perspective in the locker room is quite different than what we have. He was at Uof6 then transferred to several different schools before returning.

I’m not saying our senior leaders shouldn’t be better, they absolutely should be, but having multiple guys in your locker room that have “been around the block” certainly helps. I believe McBob is our oldest player, maybe 22/23, then Fitz and JMo at 21, and Davis and Green at 21.
