They're involved in practices and/or operations there?  Whoo what a mess

They have been accused of advising players that had been out with injuries not to play to protect their draft status, when BBN felt they were healthy enough to play. Basically, the school is being used just to promote them to the NBA - which is so laughable. That’s exactly what Cal has tried to do since he’s been there.

Coach K is gone, Calipari is on his way out the door, Huggins will be gone, the college basketball world is purging itself of scumbags!

Don't forget ol Roy and Boeheim too! Now if Izzo will just whine his way into the sunset, the transition will be nearly complete!

A little light reading for y'all from the Kensucky fan base. They seem to be taking the fractured foot setback rather well  ;)

Huggy got pulled over in Pittsburgh and thought he was in Columbus according to the police report.

Unimaginable those inbreds didn’t fire him for his verbal vomit this Spring.

Does he survive this one?  Guy’s got some problems, that’s for sure.

Especially given this is his last year, I’m still dumbfounded he survived the radio thing.

There’s just no way he coaches another game. No way.

….right?

It’s like he’s trying to get fired and the AD says, “Now, hold on a minute, Bob….”

The president is Gordon Gee who at O$U did everything to keep Tressel around after the Pryor stuff.

Have to think so.  Of course he'll probably get hired by Mississippi State next year because that's what Mississippi colleges do.

#1 -- check on any relevant Antonio Reeves information. (FWIW, Jeff Goodman has now positively confirmed with Illinois State that Reeves is enrolled in summer classes there).

#2 -- it's college basketball......UK is a big player who is really struggling to get transfers.

And Gee himself was forced out at O$U for comments he made about Catholics.  What the hell is it about West Virginia and people in charge making anti-Catholic remarks?

Anyway, the person who seems to be personally involved so far seems to A.D. Wren Baker and not Gee.  Gee seems to pretty much just be running through the motion at this point, which is probably not a big surprise.  He should have ended his career back in 2013 when he quickly resigned from OSU, and he was 69 back then.  Ultimately, I think Wren Baker will be the one making the call.

He gone.

Now the watch for player transfers is on.  West Virginia had a tremendous season in terms of bringing in transfers.   I don't know for sure, but I believe if they were to get released from their LOI from West Virginia that they would be eligible to re-enter the portal (Perez didn't actually enter the portal last season, but he's been in college for five years so I am just assuming he would qualify as a grad transfer).  For reference, Caleb Love reentered the portal this season after the May 11th deadline so I assume once you enter, you are able to re-enter if the school you transferred to allows you out of your LOI.

They brought in:

Omar Silverio, Manhattan:  6'3" guard, in 2021-22:  10.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.1 apg.  Sat out 22-23 with injury.

Jose Perez, Manhattan:  left Manhattan in the fall of 2022 after the head coach was fired, transferred to West Virginia last spring semester of 23.  In 21-22, the 6'5" guard averaged 18.9 points, 3.2 reb, and 4.5 assists.  Is not known to be a three point threat, though -- 30% for his career.

Jesse Edwards, Syracuse:  6'11" center, averaged 14.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks last year.  Has played four years.

Kerr Kriisa, Arizona:  6'3" point guard, averaged 9.9 points, 2.4 reb, 5.1 assists.  37% bulk three point shooter last season.

Raequan Battle, 6'5" guard, Montana St.  Averaged 17.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.9 assists last season.  35% shooting from three last year.  First three years were two years at Washington and a year at Montana State.....those years were pretty meh, just really burst through last year.
