Alternate captions for the graphic:

"One of these players will be Purdue's point guard next year"

"These five Purdue greats scored a total of 48 points in the NBA"

"Purdue: We. Are. Math. (and we are currently in the year 2023)"

Interesting tweet. There is speculation that Caleb Houstan declined the invite because a team promised him a draft spot. Michigan fans are pretty worried.

They are already expecting Diabate to stay in the draft but have mostly expected Houstan to return.

Maybe the NCAA has realized how worthless it is and will concentrate solely on the only thing it does well(ish): running a basketball tournament.

Important to consider Title IX. If you start handing out more scholarships to football/men's basketball for a competitive advantage in those sports, then you will either need to cut scholarships to other men's sports or other men's sports altogether, or boost women's sports/scholarships. Boosting women's scholarships is probably the more likely scenario as cuts to men's sports could already be happening.

Also, with the new transfer rules, increasing scholarships/players is just going to lead to more attrition. In the end, if this gets implemented, I don't think scholarship numbers would change drastically, and if to the extent that it does, its not going to change parity as there will just be more high quality transfers.

Half the players on scholly will never get in the game.  Many of those will be team GPA boosters.  Kids that scored 37 points in their entire high school career, but 1600 on their SAT. There will be some teams where the 3rd row behind the bench will have people in uniform.

Kris Murray got an invite???

Time for Fran McCaffrey to explain how he got his sons on the court for 42 minutes per game but could only get Kris Murray on the court for 18 minutes.

The removal of scholarship limits would be on 'equivalency sports' which can only offer partial scholarships.  It would not effect basketball or football.

Keion Brooks announced he will stay in the draft and not return to pUKe.

Michigan State freshman G Max Christie will stay in the 2022 NBA Draft and hire an agent, sources tell ESPN.

That is a huge blow to MSU, if Diabate and Houstan stays in the draft then the big ten can be ours to win.  That is if TJD comes back.

Fully agree.  I think at least 1 of Houstan/Diabate return. To me it’s OSU, Michigan, IU with the best looking rosters. Illinois will be better than expected in my opinion, as with Purdue and Wisconsin.

At the minimum, Purdue will lead the conference in the ever important number of seven footers on their roster.
