Hasn't been specified that I've seen.

UPDATE:  Just saw info that suggests the problem is with Nebraska.

Welp we really need to play that game.  Critical if we win against Maryland to get them to keep momentum.

Guessing the economic impact to the Hoosier state will be minimal if no fans in the stands.

FWIW an article in the Indy Star on this point.

The incoming NCAA tournament would provide a financial jolt to the struggling economy of Indianapolis of at least $100 million, officials said Monday.

With no clear decision yet on whether or how to include fans, the exact economic impact of the tournament is uncertain. Still, tourism and sports officials estimate the tournament will generate at least nine figures in economic spending as the city continues to reel from the coronavirus pandemic.

Indiana Sports Corp. President Ryan Vaughn called it a "tremendous opportunity" for the city, "especially as we continue to kind of endure cancellations from tourism like most other cities across the country."

Officials estimate roughly 2,500 hotel rooms are needed to house the 68 teams, media and staff that will descend upon Indianapolis in the spring.

It's also an unprecedented event for the city during an unusual time, making economic calculations challenging.

Fans at 2021 March Madness games? What we know.

"The exact number won't be calculated until the nets have been cut down and a champion is crowned, because we won't know exactly how many visitors come in and out of the city and how spending is categorized," said Chris Gahl of Visit Indy, the city's tourism arm. "But we feel very confident in a very conservative pre-game estimate that a healthy nine figures in economic impact will be felt from hosting March Madness in its entirety."

Many of the taxes generated from hosting such sporting events go to the county's Capital Improvement Board, which owns the city's major professional sports arenas, including Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center, which it also operates.

Those revenues include taxes on food and beverage, hotel rooms, car rentals, ticket sales and cigarettes. It also includes income and sales taxes within the designated professional sports development area that encompasses certain properties downtown.

Monthly revenues dropped consistently in 2020 when compared to 2019 beginning in April, with tax revenues fueling the CIB dropping by $3.9 million or 38%. They stayed low throughout the year, dropping by nearly 55% in June and 53% in September.

Sinking revenues forced the Capital Improvement Board to slash its budget by roughly 26% for 2021.

Andy Mallon, executive director of the board, declined to speculate on the economic impact the tournament would bring. But he said in a statement that the NCAA decision is a testament to the health and safety procedures the board has adopted for its facilities.

"We look forward to welcoming the student-athletes, coaches, and families and, if possible, fans to ICCLOS where we can ensure a safe and healthy environment to enjoy basketball," he said. "This will be a March to remember.”

Steve Horwitz, an economics professor at Ball State University, said it's hard to estimate the economic impact without knowing whether there will be fans present. He called the nine-figure estimate reasonable.

Either way, he said, the decision is a significant boost for the local economy.

"As we say in economics, the opportunity cost is basically nothing," he said. "The rooms would largely sit empty in March and April, so this is a big deal."

Okay USPS...sometimes I am amazed that you find this stuff. This chart is so cool!

Let me pull the most Captain Obvious takeaway for IUBB from the chart:

We are the most extreme example of “best shots + worst shooters” in the NCAA.

Very awesome, Great Chart USPS.

However, It tells us something we already know.  The bigger question is why and how do you fix it?  Archie has failed to find a solution to this problem year after year.  Either Archie needs to rectify his “shooting training” or he needs to recruit shooters. Or both.

The Parker Stewart addition was no accident

USPS, just saw this chart and was about to share but knew you’d gotten to it already! Very interesting to look at and kind of reassuring in a way that it looks like the Hoosiers are getting good looks. If the players can knock them down is a whole other question I guess...

Very guarded optimism by me here. The stats speak a different story in my eyes, but I’m open minded enough to hope/pray Archie finally lands a stud player that exceeds expectations, and is THAT dude.

TJD, aside.

Oh...I’m not saying that Stewart is some magical answer. I’m saying that he is a deliberate effort to add a pure shooter.

Pure shooter?  I really feel we overuse that term. Guys career shooting numbers aren’t that good

Geez you’re not reading what I actually said.

I said it’s a DELIBERATE EFFORT TO ADD a pure shooter.

I also quite clearly said I’m not sure if he’s the answer.

Grant Gelon and Nick Zeisloft were both DELIBERATE EFFORTS TO ADD pure shooters. Sometimes it works—sometimes it doesn’t.

You didn’t say why he wasn’t the answer.  Be clearer if you want people to understand you

Right. I wasn’t proposing that I knew whether or why he would or would not succeed.

Once again, you are arguing about the point that I did not make.

And for crying out loud, I tend to suck the oxygen out of this forum explaining myself. I even annoy myself!   I’ve never gotten an “explain yourself more” complaint.   :)
