Not entirely true. UNC is built that way. Nova is mostly built that way. Virginia is the least by far.

If I’m reading the chart correctly.... in that time frame we recruited slightly better than UNC and Nova and a fair amount better than UVA?

There is no dominant team in college basketball this year. March will be wild. The field is wide open.

Yep, It’s early but no one stands out as having the capability of having a high percentage chance to go on a six game tourney run.

UNC no, Nova is close, and we and we recruited better than Virginia. They have just outperformed their rankings.

Unless I am interpreting the chart wrong......On the recruiting axis it clearly looks as though we are to the left (ie higher ranked) of UNC.

In 2015 UNC had the composite 70th class. Otherwise they mostly beat us in 247 composite except 2018 10 vs 13. Every other year they we typically 10 to 15 spots ahead of us. In 2015 when theirs was that bad? We weren’t in top 30. But we weren’t that bad. Guessing that has a lot to do with that. But I see what you are saying. Recruiting wise I think we are fine. That was my overall point. People tend to think Nova and Virginia are doing better than what they are recruiting stars.

Yet some people would have you believe that making the tourney in year 2 was unrealistic

I’m more impressed with the 3 year consistency (Elite 8, Final game, ranked 12th this year) Beard has had. Normally a TT type team might hit the jackpot one year and then fade after that. He seems to have things rolling....At TT!!

In bold....this is 100% incorrect.

In red, only if you watch only for the score.   That's absolutely your prerogative; but it's not boring if you're watching our players and our team develop rather than the score.

In purple, disagree with this, too.  I think we know a lot about this team.  What don't you know?  Without the crystal ball stuff like "what will happen if ____," what don't we know?  What haven't you seen?   Serious question.

I, personally, have no problem with the schedule. I enjoy the games regardless of who we are playing and I watch more how the team is playing than who. I was trying to address it from the perspective of those who have an issue with the pre-conference schedule. I believe that no matter how well I think I know this team, CAM knows it much better and he builds the schedule based on that knowledge. I think we substantially agree on most points. Either I didn't state my point clearly enough or you misinterpreted what I said. Possibly some combination of both. Anyway, I love what I'm seeing so far and believe this is a much better TEAM than the one we watched last year.

Weird - looks like Indiana, OSU, and Louisville have all done relatively the same based on the chart

The chart only takes in account total wins (not conference standing or tourney results) over the past 4 years. Matta’s last year at 17-15 is in there and they barely made the tourney last year with just a 20-15 overall record (I.e. their 4 year total is not much different than ours).

I am not that impressed with North Carolina either. I think we will see teams with 5-6 losses on the 1 line in the tournament. A team like Gonzaga that can rack up a lot of wins will be in good shape this year.
