The Mocs of Chattanooga had a sweet 16 run in 1997.

The Minutemen unofficially had a final four in 1996.

Neither team has won an NCAA tournament game since those runs. UMass is in the Atlantic 10 which is traditionally a better conference than the SoCon. The Mocs hold an NCAA appearance edge, 11-9 and have never had an appearance vacated by the NCAA.

I don't know a whole lot about the crystal ball, but it appears that it was 62% predicted for UMASS and 25% for Chattanooga.

Even more curious, it looks like the UMASS predictions occurred in early December, but those Chattanooga experts rolled in their final answer between 8:35 pm and 8:37 pm  announcement night.
