drock161 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Lewis on VCU just got shut down, ran straight into a screen and hit the deck! He was on the floor for a good bit with no play stoppage. Back in the game now Quote

VO5 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I still don't understand comparing IU to UNC, etc. it's just not a fair look. We hit the reset for Christ's sake lol. Would love to win the BTT. Crazy things seem to happen. Is it really all on IU? I mean, they miss one of those two 3's, we make one more free throw, etc and the tone is totally different? Seems pretty short sightedgames are defined by winning or losing, whether that is by a free throw, 3 at the buzzer, whatever. A loss is a loss. There are no resets in the tourney, and you can't say, "well we almost got them! One more free throw or a missed 3 from them and we win!" Resumes are defined by these types of games every year. You either win or you lose, there is no in-between Quote

While these other programs people want to put us in the same category with were functioning healthily and winning. This is the first year the IU program has been close to healthy in a lot of years. Next year will be even better as far as roster is concerned VO5 1 Quote

No one will remember that Cincinnati should of won against uconn in that 4ot classic but like you said either you win or lose because a kid throws in a 70 footer VO5 1 Quote

MadAboutIndiana Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Please tell me we're not still using 2008 as a crutch. You think it's fair to compare a program that took itself to ground zero to ones that have been going to Final Fours and recruiting like it? I mean really? You think that's a legitimate comparison? It's not a crutch. The guy brought IU out the other side, but we are just now seeing the fruit of that labor. I know you guys all want it NOW and to fire him NOW this instant, but it just doesn't work that way Quote

Missed on millions of targets. Faltered for 2 seasons. If we had 4 straight consistent years from Zeller to now, we'd be on top of CBB with the big dogs. LIHoosier and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote

As Izzo said, "how do you recruit to that??!" So yes, I do think there are still ripple effects being felt from the Sampson travesty. If you can recruit with the big boys, you can turn it around quickly. Iu was not and is not in a position to do that after a generation of irrelevancy bleedhoosier 1 Quote

Gosh I hate them!i agree I dislike the program and coach but as a college basketball nut couldnt hate a kid like ulis or even towns. Those 2 kids in my opinion play their butts off anytime they were on the court. You know if cal would of gotten mudiey a couple years ago ulis would of been a spartan WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

I bet you were all about the movement.... Mistakes happen to every single coach. It sucks. But a couple guys don't pan out, one guy gets homesick, and there you have it when you are not recruiting the same players as the powers. It takes time. Look at Costello. Msu can afford to wait til his senior year for him to be good. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
MadAboutIndiana Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 People, we have to admit that IU basketball is not special to kids outside of a handful with good parents lol. It's hard as hell to win. That's why we gotta be thankful we have Crean. Two titles is nothing to sneeze at and yet after Friday it's like it didn't even happen! Quote
