I think lebron and the cavs wanted the pacers. An easier series for them. That's why they didn't try that hard to get the number 1 seed in the east.

I agree. I think another choreographed decision by Lebron. Turning out to be a pretty smart move if true. I am an admitted Lebron fan, but the guy has handled his life, career and media circus remarkably well considering how much attention and pressure he is under.

They did, it was obvious the last week when they were resting guys because of "injuries". It was never the case, they wanted the team that played no defense, would try to run with them, and didn't have the bigs with the toughness to give them issues like the Bulls have with Lopez.

Too bad the Pacers couldn't be more consistent during the year to play themselves into a better first round opponent, ie anyone besides the Cavs

The Pacers should have just missed the playoffs and saved themselves the time and embarrassment, but anyone who has any familiarity with the history of this franchise knew that would never happen. They're always either good but not good enough, or bad but not bad enough. They'll never get the players to be elite because they'll never draw free agents and they'll always win just enough to avoid the lottery. It's infuriating.

I miss the PG pre-injury days, as well as the Reggie Miller teams. Those teams certainly had their flaws, but it was way better than the directionless garbage we have now.

How is a two handed push with zero intention to go after the ball not flagrant?

Was wondering the same thing, if that was LeBron he pushed down he would have been ejected and suspended for 10 games. NBA is such an absolute joke.

Imagine this board if:

1) We still hadn't hired a coach.
2) The OKC and Boston series keep going in the direction they're currently going.

People blaming the Celtics losing on Stevens pisses me off. That team had no business being a 1 seed this year or even making the payoffs the last 2 years.

OKC blew a chance to take a road game from the Rockets losing 115-111; Vic with another poor shooting night although he did grab 9 rebounds.  But, Gordon had a strong performance in his 30 minutes coming off the bench with 22 pts.  Trail Blazers pounded by the Warriors 110-81.  Vonleh with a forgetable 19 minutes and the team was -29 during his 19 minutes on the court.

Russ had a 50 point triple double but he was garbage in the 4th quarter. Chucked the Thunder to a loss. Oladipo has been horrible too.

He has a lot of talent, and is an exciting player, but I don't like his game. It's not a winning style of game.

Some guys in history have put up great numbers as volume pushers - Westbrook, Maravich, Dominique Wilkins - but they don't play winning basketball. I would put the Warriors version of World B Free in that category too.

Westbrook is substandard with his decisions. And he was that way last year with Durant, and I think that's a big reason why Durant left. I thought Westbook's game was a mess last year. Now, without Durant, he gets more rebounds, takes more shots and happens to accumulate drive-and-dish assists along the way. But there are several players in the league that would amass great numbers if they played for the Thunder and were give carte blanche with the ball, the way he is.

I appreciate his effort and his talent. But he doesn't play winning basketball and I suspect he might not understand winning basketball.

Even if he were surrounded by good players, I suspect he would still make maddening plays in the last five minutes of tight games. The only way to avoid it would be to make sure the ball wasn't in his hands for the key decisions late in games.

There was one play with about 2 minutes left, right after the Rockets had taken a 1-point lead (their first lead of the second half), when Westbrook was guarding Beverly (I think it was Beverly). And he left Beverly wide open in the corner.

Westbrook sagged WAAAAAYYYYYY off of him, and was down in the paint. He wasn't helping anyone in the paint. Neither team EVER sent a post feed into the paint. And there wasn't a great threat of a drive that he needed to be aware of.

Westbrook just sagged off Beverly, hung out in the paint. And the Rockets kicked the ball over to Beverly for an open 3-pointer. Dagger 3-pointer. And Westbrook just bought a ticket and spectated for the whole thing. His man. He sagged off for no apparent reason.

Garbage.

Some of you guys have probably shared the court with guys like this (not his type of talent, but his type of self-absorbed approach to basketball).

Garbage.

My bad. Garbage is too strong of a word. I got carried away.

I should reserve that word for a player who doesn't care.

He does care. He just doesn't seem to know any better.

So there's a better word than garbage. When I think of it, maybe I'll post it.

Couldn't agree more. The fact that they're in the playoffs and on top of that a number 1 seed is a testament to how good of a coach he is. The celtics are not that talented, they just play harder and are coached better.

I would hate playing with Westbrook. He's a great talent, but watching him chuck 43 shots on 39% shooting would get old fast.

I agree to an extent, but right now he really doesnt have much of a choice. Their second best scorer should probably be Vic and hes playing like garbage and no one else is really capable of scoring in bunches to keep them in games.
