We bailed on Lyle at the end. Crean did his due diligence and must have not liked what he saw. Pretty sure everyone would be more upset if we never looked at him a la Bluiett

I think if JBJ would have went to pUKe, Crean would have continued to recruit Lyle and we would have ended up with him. After JBJ recommitted, we backed off Lyle. Thank goodness we got Blackmon.

I posted this before but this applies now. A friend who coaches and teaches at Park Tudor said that Crean was there quite often as was Izzo. Blueitt must have told something to Crean and Izzo because Crean stopped visiting and Izzo was in Indy almost weekly. Blueitt told several players and coaches MSU was where he was headed. Then out of nowhere he committed to Xavier. From what I was told, his own coach was told hours beforehand. Sounds like to me the kid had no idea what he wanted and led Izzo on for months.

Xavier is odd, but he can be the guy there. He probably could've at MSU, too but it wasn't happening here. I'm wondering if he told Crean that and that's why he backed off. Blueitt is a great talent and it sucks not having him, but it's not like we didn't give an effort.

Where is this notion that bluiett wanted to be the man coming from? Is that substantiated? I honestly don't know but doesn't seem to jive with his interest in MSU and his commitment to UCLA.
