6'4" Guard Nick Zeisloft joins Hoosiers

Gordon's 3's attempts should have been higher.  He should have taken some of off of Sheehey's totals and nearly all off of Hollowell, Troy, and Stan.

Sheehey shot us out of games early in the season.  Now late in the season he had a few hot games or else his average would have been as poor as his shooting was.  Don't get me wrong on Sheehey, love his game, but he didn't play HIS game this past season.  He was and will never be a 3 point shooter.  He thought he was our 2nd best shooter though and took a bunch of terrible 3's.

Gordon's percentages were fairly good really.  Should have taken another 50 3's or so.

Im glad someone agrees with me about Sheehey. Ive said that before about Sheehey and you would've thought I killed some kittens in front of everyone.

But Gordon could've had more shots if he wanted. He was a part of the Scared Squad who were afraid of shooting the ball last year

Oh man, people would always get on me when I said something about Sheehey. He was a great Sixth Man. I would always be happy to have him as a Sixth Man. He just wasn't a starter and shouldn't have been. He was perfect for a burst of energy and to get everyone moving again. Terrible for long stretches.

Overinflated team percentage? What are you talking about? A team percentage is a team percentage. You can't add or remove players to make your own team average. Is your point that he would have been the 3rd best 3 point shooter on a bad 3 point shooting team? If so, I can agree to that perhaps but that isn't anything to brag about

It's silly for you to act like a guy shooting better than 11 of 13 guys doesn't improve the shooting. And I'll make you an avatar bet he shoots above 40% this year

The problem last year was that he deserved to be and had to be a starter because we had so few options.

Again--I love Sheehey and I think his play last year says more about our team than it does about him.  He tried to make things happen because he had to and often forced the action.

We have many more options this year!

he edged out Sheehey and Gordan by 1% but ok. Yeah, I'll take you up on that bet but he needs to take at least 32 three point attempts to count. Regular season only, so 1 attempt per game. 40% is the push so you have 41% and above and I have 39% and below.

Just for the record, I hope you are right. I agree he will get a lot of open looks

Those parameters sound fair. The winner gets to pick the others avatar for 30 days, ok?

Zeisloft is an intelligent and poised young man, no doubt about it. That presser wasn't an easy situation to be put into but he handled it with acumen. Very glad to have him at IU.

Laz---I am more impressed with him all the time as well.  After recent events, now we know why Crean wanted to get some positive leadership in here for the team!

I don't care what you guys think. I think we should bring this guy in. He'll do great things.

Hey, admins, can you backdate this post like three months for me? Thanks!

I would like to refer you to posts # 1 and #9 from page 1 of this 27 page thread.

Thank me very much ;)

Funny what can happen when we wait to judge players until AFTER the games actually start! :D

Z3 is a keeper!

I am not going to argue because I think Z is good, maybe even very good, but I want to present a Devils Advocate viewpoint.

This is exactly the type of game for Z to excel. Smaller, less talented, and less athleticism. I will be fully convinced after the SMU game. Until then I still am reserving judgement on our team and Z as well.

AGAIN, I want to reiterate, I am extremely happy with everything Z has provided for our Hoosiers so far, I just don't think we have a full measuring stick yet.

While this team was small and out manned I still like what i see.Nick is in position to shoot as soon as he touches the ball and has a quick release. Also with his size and strength he wont be trying to shoot over bigger guards very often.I'm sure he wont be averaging 24 points a game in the big but I bet he gets his never the less. With Stan and Troy back and the slashing and kick outs that will create He'll get plenty of open looks.
