Would you call it horror or more of a sci-fi thriller?

Probably a suspense thriller. It takes a pretty hard turn at the end though to a different genre.

There is a scene late in the movie that is insanely jntense

saw it too. Exact same thoughts. Not sure I like ending but still enjoyable ride.

OT: But the previews for the movie. Most seemed like the standard mainstream trailers, except one that seemed low budget and completely out of place. It was rated R, did you're theater have it or no? It clearly stuck with me since it is the only one I even vaguely remember.

What did everyone think of X-Men: Apocalypse?

Bright Spots:

-Magneto's rage

-Quicksilver is always hilarious

-Night crawler was cool

-Cyclops' headset at the end

-Jean Grey had an AWESOME moment

Not Bright Spots:

-Mystique...why was she even there?

-Apocalypse...was boring

-Not particularly thought provoking or as inventive as the first two

However, I did love watching it. It's action packed and I will rent it when it comes out.

I enjoyed the first but didn't think it was as good as I thought it would be.  Glad there will be a sequal.

I was excited to see the first one but I was extremely underwhelmed by it. It was decent, but I'm not sure if I'll watch the sequel.

I caught it on a movie channel freeview weekend a while back. Was expecting better. It was ok. Underwhelmed is a great word choice.

I agree on underwhelmed.  I enjoyed it enough to probably watch the sequel though.  To be honest I was kind of surprised when I heard there'd be a sequel to it.

Edit: I'm fired posting book stuff in a movie thread. I'll blame it on the meds.

I watched the new Ghostbusters, thought it was meh but my niece and nephew loves it.

Batman vs. Superman was okay but too many WTF parts in it.

I really liked Free State of Jones. It is a lot different than the preview but was a great history lesson.

BvS was pretty good once the action started but it was so slow to build.  Plus the title would lead someone to believe it'd be a clash between comic book titans but instead it was a few minutes of that battle.  Certainly could've been better.  Like all the DC movies before it, great marketing but not a great film.

They took a page out of Marvel's playbook recently and limited creative direction to a small group of people so maybe that'll pan out in the future.  We'll see in the Wonder Woman movie if it does.
