Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Pretty amazing. Nellie Fox struck out 216 times over 19 major league seasons from 1947 to 1965, a span of 10,351 plate appearances. Joey Gallo struck out 213 times last year. Quote

Dude struck out less once a month or so if you average it out for the entire year and not just the season. That’s insane. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Vin Scully passed away tonight. RIP to a true baseball legend who never had an at-bat and never threw a pitch. Jeez -- Bill Russell on Sunday and now this. The sports world lost two legends and true gentlemen in the past three days. Class of '66 Old Fart, Demo, fwgreenway and 2 others 4 1 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Pujols has done it. Hitting 700. A mark that was unthinkable until he left the angels. Fitting that it happened at the dodgers if not in St. Louis HoosierDYT and Gnet550 2 Quote

Naturalhoosier Posted October 16, 2022 Author Posted October 16, 2022 Padres, Phillies, Astros, and potentially the Indians? Not how I was expecting this to shape up. Been a crazy post season thus far. Quote
Alford Bailey Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Always nice to occasionally see a team not in the top ten of payroll make the post season. Quote

LamarCheeks Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Hoskins just hit another bomb, not long after Schwarber -- ahem --- stole second. (Was initially ruled out, but obviously was safe -- call was overturned). When Hoskins unloaded, the Padres left fielder didn't move an inch. I've always wondered about that: If an outfielder doesn't even turn around on a blast like that, isn't he sorta showing up his pitcher? Quote
IUc2016 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Schwarber headed to the World Series again. I loved watching him in college, but never would have guessed he would have this type of career. So cool to see thebigweave and Alford Bailey 2 Quote

Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 So I watched some MLB for the first time since Barry Bonds played... Watched the last 3 innings of the Phillies game. Awesome to see Schwarber have this much fun. Quote
HinnyHoosier Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Looks like it’s time for everyone to be a Phillies fan. Even Astros fans should consider making the change. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Redcamaro, thebigweave, LIHoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
