There's plenty he could have done. He could have stopped before getting to the bag. Or he could have slid into it. It was a reckless, stupid play -- not a freak accident. That space belonged to the baserunner. No need for him to cross into it.

Slide into the bag. Ok. Then someone tweaks an ankle. Then someone will be whining that he should have run to the bag.  It was just a bang-bang play.

If you know how to slide, you don't hurt an ankle. These are major leaguers. With a smart second baseman, that injury is easily avoidable.

Malcolm Jamal Warner. Sucked. Ozzy. Hurt worse. Hulk? Come on universe! Ryno? Universe said hold my beer. This one killed me.

I turned 50 on July 18. I grew up in Mooresville. We had WGN or TBS. Cubs or Braves. Duh. This man is why I love baseball more than basketball. Yes. Indiana boy but baseball is my needle to the vein. Even my ex wife checked in on me. This one hurt the worst.

I was just thinking ... 

Not too long ago, I woke up to them having the best record in MLB. 

Today, I woke up to them being 6 games back in the NL Central.

Pulls Horton after 3…. Freaking 3 innings.

 

Only to see a 5 run lead erased almost immediately.

 

The deadline acquisitions have been awful outside of Kittridge recently.
