I'm over Thon. Ed Smith really turns me off to Thon. This should be Thons decision to make, not Ed Smith's. The fact that Ed Smith has history with both Hurley and Brey, is troubling to me. It doesn't look like he's putting the kid in the very best position possible but rather putting himself in the best position possible. His reasoning as to why these schools would be good fits for Thon are hilarious (to me anyways.)

I agree with the annoyance with Ed Smith, but I don't think there is a bad position for Thon. He will go anywhere and be the star on the team from day one. ESPN and other outlets have been fawning over him since day one, so he will get immediate coverage no matter where he goes.

I have serious doubts someone like Thon would go to a school that clearly doesn't take basketball all that seriously.

Arizona State lost last night to Sacramento State.

 

Have to think this can't help with Thon.  If you can't back up aggressive recruiting with wins on the court, then it all seems like empty promises and blowing smoke.

 

Combine this with NC State losing last night, and IU could be looking a lot better to Thon and Rawle before too long.
