IU for Christmas

Recommended Posts

Not exactly related to IU for Christmas but...

My parents and other family members all graduated from IU.  I left my little town in Southern Indiana a few months after graduating  high school to "see the world."  My parents and family constantly sent me IU gear; hoodies, shirts, socks, dress shirts, pen/pencil holders, calendars, anything and everything IU related in hopes that one day I would return to Indiana.  Unfortunately, health issues forced me to medically retire early from the military.  I applied and was accepted to several colleges around the US but as I sat there deciding where to go I was surrounded by more than just clothes, calendars, and other gear that made the choice easy.  Their campaign was relentless and paid off.  I now shower my nephew and other kids I know with as much IU gear I can find.  Even though we are frustrated with the basketball team is and the football team dropping a few games we should have won my IU gear means more to me than that.

IU basketball items are usually a staple at Christmas in my family. This year however, nobody wanted anything IU related bc of how disgusted we are over the basketball program. I guess you can say we are withholding our $$$ until they prove they want to win as much as the fans do.

This right here.

My home office is full of IU stuff - autographed basketballs, autographed photos, framed prints, plaques, even replica banners.

Christmas gifts have always included at least one more item for the office decor.

But this year, we did not spend a dime on anything branded IU. For the same reasons as Feathery.

I feel the same way in regards to tickets. Will not spend one red cent until I see something positive start happening with this program.
