I think we are desperately wishing . Not too many signs point to Watford ending up at IU. This one seems a lot easier to figure out then the Brooks debacle.

Zero insider info. Just a feeling reading a few different takes and what Watford said. Have we ever been on a recruit, completely backed off, and then started communication to land that recruit? I don’t think that’s the type of recruit that IU lands.

No one is probably great at that approach but we have not had this staff along enough to say we never get anyone who is recruited that way

Yeah, I agree with both of you. Definitely seems like a long shot at best. If anything, I think there's a very slim chance that we land him and it'll be based solely on the circumstances of his other choices.

Sounds better than Trendon as an assistant and Christian as a player or something like that. I don't believe Christian has a masters degree.

Been thinking about Christian and Trendon. I’m not saying that I believe the watfords are “dirty.” But what if after Cwat experienced CBB and talking to other players around the country about “getting paid” while in college. That he’s went back to lil bro and said look, all these others are/were doing it, so can you and here’s how it’s done.
I’m doing this while stuck in traffic so it may not make any sense. Thoughts?

I think that there are plenty of expectations with a 5* stud anywhere. Christian was a good player at IU. Not great but good. Ridiculous that a fanbase would base expectations on one shot. But, I can see where they are coming from.

If the Watford family is worried about Trendon being subjected to unfair expectations due to his brother's success, it seems to me they are setting the bar low for this young man. Hoosier nation would expect to see a high character young man play with a high skill set and equally high basketball IQ.  Highly skilled players are usually confident in their ability irregardless. I doubt Tre Jones worried about being unfairly compared to his brother, Tyus when he played at Duke. Unfair expectations seems like a weak excuse.
