(2017) PG Paul Scruggs to Xavier

Recommended Posts

He didn't look good at all in the 1st half but had a stretch in the 3rd where he took over. He got an offensive rebound off a miss free throw with 20 seconds to play and up 3 and for some reason pulled back out but then forced it on baseline and dribbled out of bounds. But pike called a timeout with 3 secs down 3 only problem was they didn't have any. Southport survives

Scruggs and southport take down connersville. Southport let connersville hang around until late in the 4th. He had a stretch in the 1st half where he went on a 8-0 run by himself. However he has stretches where he forces and looks for calls however you can see the talent oozing

Kyle Neddenriep ‏@KyleNeddenriep

Joey Brunk 27 points and 12 rebounds. Paul Scruggs 17 points and 8 rebounds. It'll be New Albany next week in semistate, site TBA.

As a Southport alum, I'd really like to see us land Scruggs (and Wilkes, too).  Since you mentioned Joey Brunk I can relate a little bit about his decision to attend Butler.  I graduated with his dad (Joe) in '78.  Joe and another classmate of mine had dinner last Fall shortly after Joey committed to Butler.  Joe said his son made the decision based on academics and the way the team behaved themselves and respected the coach.  I don't know if the later is a contrast to what he saw at IU, but this is what I was told.

This is spot on. But I can confirm that the Brunks had nothing but good things to say about Tom Crean. Looking at rosters, he made the best call for him

I will tell you one other tidbit on Brunk and this is a rumor from my uncle he has a brother who is an eighth grader that is thinking about going to Franklin Central because he does not want to play for Simpson.
