Aaron Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I'm not getting my shorts in a knot over McCollum vs DeVries yet. I have seen to many instances where the one who appears better in the beginning, is worse in the end or both end up being equally good by the time its settled. McCollum could be the much better coach, but I'll judge that down the road and not on one year from both. In the meantime, good for Iowa and the Big Ten for their performance this year. WayneFleekHoosier Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Wow is right. Good analysis by BTB. I told my son what Stuhoo said. Can’t trail Stirtz on that play. Terrible decision by Fland set the whole thing up. I don’t hate McCollum. I guess I like the Mcs. Because I like McCasland too. I wanted McCasland knowing he wasn’t coming North. IQ wise, McCollum is light years ahead of DeVries and we might be cooked. Lol I was on record not wanting McCollum. (Because I wanted a big name) I still feel that way to be honest but he’s a great coach with a lot of fight. Damn. He didn’t want us, I don’t want him. Iowa doesn’t have the money to do what IU football did. I mentioned elsewhere 1 booster had to come to the collectives rescue bc they couldn’t pay their football roster what was promised. Not the same. Quote

Lol I wasn’t a fan of McCollum style but he’s very smart and damn good coach. His players play hard and it appears they have a buy in to the culture. Do not have top NIL and still assembled a team that competes. Obviously bringing Stirtz was key to their success. But I would think with Stirtz heading to the NBA he will likely be able to draw some talent there he can develop. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Honestly I’d take Josh Shertz over Ben McCollum. Not that Ben is a bad coach and can’t win. Just preference of style of play. skhoosier2 and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote

But if Dusty May goes to the NBA this year, which is a possibility, then Schwartz to Michigan. edit: I’ll guess Byington will be the next coach at UNC, and do very well. Quote
realTomCrean Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I’m very convinced until we ditch the old uniforms & build Bob Knight Stadium we are cursed from any chance of real success. I tend to stay on the satirical side on here because IUBB hurts my feelings, but I’m completely serious about this superstition Quote
