On paper Purdue has been gift-wrapped a path to the Elite 8, but removing my hater glasses as much as possible I could still see Texas’ length and athleticism giving them a ton of problems. Plus, Texas is kinda on a roll.

Swain is a nasty matchup for PU. Like, really nasty. He’s so efficient finishing at the rim and such a good decision maker in traffic. Texas will get clean looks. A lot of it’ll be how that game’s called. If it’s called tight PU’s got a problem. But if they’re letting TKR just truck guys from the mid-post like he does in the B1G I don’t think UT has any answer for that stuff.

Though I can't stand him -- I have to hand it to Hermey. It's tough to play hoops when you've got bad gas.

Dude's been a Toiletmaker for four years now. Has he EVER lifted one weight?

I don't know about lifting weights, but his hairline has been doing backward sprints since freshman year.

TKR pushes in the back and sets moving screens so often, they can't call them all.

It's difficult to throw shade at Purdue when they're consistently making the tournament, (often taking things to the sweet sixteen), while we sit here on the outside, showing barely a pulse for the last 40 years, (notwithstanding Crean's blip on the radar) and having only the hope of Spring football practice.

I find it to be easy.  ;-)

Rarely do I root for Purdue, but happy to finally see Miami pay off its debts to the State of Indiana from 2023 when they knocked out our best men's and women's basketball squads of this decade with legit Final Four aspirations within 48 hours in second round as inferior team both times.

Nice to see script completely flipped now with IU taking the football title from them and now Purdue ending the basketball team's season two months later. Definitely don't want Purdue winning a title over it or going to much further, but for today I am glad to see Miami's 'debt' to the state of Indiana settled from 2023.

Texas also has Sean Miller…lol

Which means they will lose to a Big Ten team in the second weekend (See Sean Miller at Arizona vs Wisconsin multiple years)

Disagree; it’s sooo easy to throw shade at Purdump:

We are the undefeated defending football national champions; they are good but endlessly “hopeful but disappointed” in basketball.

We have a beautiful campus; they have a parking lot in a cornfield campus.

We have arts and great food in Btown; and they have blah-meh-ick.

We have beautiful, interesting women and intelligent, handsome men; they have cows and pocket protectors.

We are the state’s flagship university; they are just a name.

We are IU; they are PeeYew.

Confession:

Now that IU is the undefeated National Football Champion a Puredoo win here and there doesn’t bother me nearly as much.

Or maybe it’s because I’m becoming more mature.

But it’s probably the former.

Thank Purdue for the paycheck. Every win by a conference team pays out to the conference to divvy up to all the conference teams. Remind them that IU has a football national title and 5 basketball titles and they have neither.

8 fouls called in the 1st 4 mins. Someone must have reminded the refs at halftime that we are, in fact, tuned in to watch them.

We have seen it several  times already this tournament. First half, refs let them maul each other. Second half....call everything. Consistency is not a strong suit in collegiate officiating.

They probably need to call more stuff in the second half because they're tired and need to catch their breath more often... lol
