The question of the day.  Can IUBB play this game as well as they did last night at Ruger?   Toiletmakers (17-2) (7-1) average 85 ppg with a +17 margin shooting 51% FG and 39% on 3s.  They average 38 rpg with a +9 margin.  4 players average double figures.  Amish Boy at 43% is their best 3-point shooter followed by Flopper and C. J. Cox at 39%.  Jack Bentner is at 53% but on just 40 attempts.  TKR and Oscar Cluff are their best rebounders at 9.1 and 8.2 respectively.  The aren't careless with ball averaging just 10 TOs/game.  Won't easy by any means but they aren't invincible.  GO HOOSIERS!

Kaufman-Renn, Cluff, and Jacobsen are going to be a tough trio for us to match up against.  Too bad that we don't get a favorable whistle in Assembly Hall anymore.  We could use a few cheapies called on their big men early in the game.

Can this please just be one of those games where we can’t miss.  Please….maybe coach cig could be a surprise guest on the bench to help bring some good mojo

May need TJD and JHS for this game.

Oh joy.

John Fanta, Robbie Hummel, and Caroline Pineda will call Purdue at Indiana tomorrow night at 9 p.m. ET for Peacock.

They can't give us Gus Johnson just this once.

Hopefully they go big. As much as I hate the Tucker vs TKR matchup for us defensively, when they go big it clutters up the lane for TKR. He’d dominate Bailey just the same if they go small. On the other end, TKR has to guard Tucker and I suspect they try to hide Loyer on Enright. If we start Dorn, Wilkerson *should* get a ton of looks from 3.

Rebounding will be brutal. So we’ll have to out shoot them.

**** with eligibility rules being what they are they are probably allowed to play

I mean, given the recent developments. I'm sure they'd be eligible. We will have to shoot it extremely well, value and take care of the basketball and rebound the basketball. I hope the crowd shows up.

I think this season will definitely be a learning season for DDV. And it helps to have a guy that can go get you a bucket. Lamar is good in his spots but he's not a guy you give the ball too and play ISO. I haven't given up on the season yet but I am watching Schertz. Ok, I'm going to stop now because I am all over the board! I think I am stir crazy with this weather!

UCLA blocked 8 shots in the first half during Purdue's loss to them.  UCLA then, in the 2nd half, took advantage of Purdue's errors.

Illinois got a record-breaking 46 points from freshman Wagler.  And they scored 18- 2nd half points on offensive rebounds.

Seems that in the last 4 games Purdue is not playing like they had been.  Rebounding and 3-point shooting are a focus right now.   They had been hitting closer to 40%.  In the last 4 games their 3-point shot have dropped at a clip of 33.3%.

IU played much better defense in our win against Rutger.  And IU hit 15 3-pointers and Dorn and Alexis stepped up big.

What is going on with them?  Seems Purdue's offensive execution and perimeter defense are both off.  They also are lacking depth at key positions.  Finally, the key just may be that opponents are effectively defending against PG Braden Smith.

A 6'0" playmaker from Westfield, IN, Smith is known for elite passing, high basketball IQ, and scoring ability. As a junior (2024-25), he was a consensus first-team All-American, the Bob Cousy Award winner, and led Purdue to the 2024 National Championship game.  But Purdue is not the same as last year.

Are IU's guards athletic, quick and smart enough to slow Braden Smith?

I know that IU is on a roll and Purdue still sux more each day.

I cannot imagine lil bro standing tall at our place.  POTFB!

Is that worth a full point or just a half point in the Governor's Cup competition?  lol

My understanding is one point per sport. So in football, it's one game for one point. Basketball (and some other sports), it's .5 points per game, a full point for the season (2 games).
