Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Little early to start a game thread but I like to flush the toilet ASAP. This will not be a cupcake game by any stretch of the imagination and if we play like we have the last 2 games, we'll get roasted just like Tom Turkey will next Thursday. KSU is 5-0 and in 4 of its 5 games have scored over 90 points. They host Nebraska this evening. They're shooting 46% on 3s averaging almost 25 attempts/game while holding their opponents to 33%. They outrebound their opponents by 6 per game and 30% of their rebounds are off the offensive board. Live Stats Radio - Varsity Network Radio - WHCC WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 21, 2025 Author Posted November 21, 2025 In KSU's latest game a 98-77 win over Mississippi State, P. J. Hagerty had 37 pts., 7 reb and 8 assists. Quote
str8baller Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Looks to me like they’re another team of almost all new players. Hoosierfanyuh 1 Quote
Home Jersey Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Can we start Alexis without crushing Bailey's confidence? We will need Bailey to play a lot regardless but we are so much better with Alexis on the court so far. Highly doubt the starting lineup changes for this game, maybe all year, but I'd still like to see it lol Stuhoo 1 Quote
Uspshoosier Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Kansas St had a 20 + lead on California and let them get back in the game late. They also should have lost at home to Tulsa. Tulsa was up 5 with 40 sec to go. Stop Hagerty and IU should be fine. KSU plays Nebraska tonight in the finals of the Hall of Fame classic on Peacock at 9:30 if anyone wants to watch them mamasa, Stuhoo, Class of '66 Old Fart and 3 others 5 1 Quote

Instead it seems as though the current plan is that Alexis plays 25 minutes and Bailey plays 15 minutes regardless of which one starts. Alexis is currently averaging three minutes more per game than Bailey, and it's trending to a larger gap. That works for me. Home Jersey 1 Quote
Home Jersey Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Have we seen Bailey and Alexis on the court together yet? Maybe we try that for a stretch during this game. I'm excited for the game. Not sure how we'll slow down Haggerty Quote

Haggerty will be interesting. Conerway will get that assignment. Home Jersey, RaceToTheTop and Stuhoo 3 Quote

He's the best defender/ ball denier we've got. Quote

And our ability to outshoot our inability to rebound. Quote

EVERY game for this team is dependent on us hitting a reasonable number of shots from distance! At 6'4" we have exactly one guy who is perfectly suited to guard PJ Haggerty; Tayton Conerway. If Tayton stays out of foul trouble I love our chances; he's a really good ball denier and routinely blows up screens. Whoozhers, mike vannice, thebigweave and 4 others 6 1 Quote
HoosierHoopster Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 I'm a bit wary of this game after the last two clunkers, but based on the earlier games think DeVries will have the team ready and we'll look like the team that took care of Marquette. Wilkerson is due for big game too.... Stuhoo 1 Quote

Not that we should be that for Lindenwood, but the crowds have been unenthusiastic thus far. HoosierHoopster 1 Quote

They are clearly more of a platoon than a starter / backup dynamic. Devries has been inserting Alexis earlier and earlier, did it less than 2 min in to the second half last night. J34 1 Quote

I'd like to see performance be rewarded but I agree in the grand scheme it's not super important. Gotta get Bailey figured out. Also wonder if as the season goes on Enright and Conerway eventually have a similar dynamic. Might need more size / athleticism / shooting on the floor. That would free up some minutes for Dorn / Miles. But I doubt we see any lineup changes tbh. J34 and Stuhoo 2 Quote
Parakeet Jones Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 I'm hoping for one of those games we haven't seen in a while where the 3s are raining, the Hall is rocking, and it just avalanches the visiting team. Class of '66 Old Fart, OliviaPope40, Napleshoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 22, 2025 Author Posted November 22, 2025 Kansas State beaten by Nebraska last night 86-85. This KSU team puts points on the board and our offense and our defense better both be clicking on all cylinders next Tuesday evening. HoosierHoopster and Napleshoosier 2 Quote
FortWayneHoosier Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 I think we will "rise" to the occasion and beat them...but it aint gonna be easy. I imagine Assembly Hall is gonna be rocking! thebigweave 1 Quote
