Demo Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 Watched 1 of Taylor’s games this weekend. Hell of an athlete for a kid that size. Excellent movement skills and coordination. Nice hands and feet. Would also like a current measurement on him. Would guess he’s more than 7’1”. Class of '66 Old Fart, go iu bb, ebridges24 and 2 others 5 Quote

The “Baylor will help me grow closer to God” thing from his 247 interview seems kind of tough to overcome but I have faith in our student body’s ability to corrupt him on a visit. WayneFleekHoosier Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 We seem to have recruiting swagger to get some nice visits. (I’m also quite sure its normal these days to pay recruits to officially visit-so there’s that too). Curious to see how this (overall class) turns out. Quote

Taylor’s a spectacular example of how the changes in the game have impacted recruiting profiles. He’s not as good, but physically he’s basically Ralph Sampson. He might be 7’2” and he has the feet and movement skills of a 6’7” kid. 30 years ago he might have been the number 1 kid in the class and everyone would have been on him. Now he’s just a highly regarded kid who’s profiled as a rim protector and finisher. Quote

go iu bb Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Rabby is saying that he's being told by someone who knows him (Taylor) "very well" that IU has a better chance at landing Taylor than previously thought. He also just posted an interview with Taylor which was quite positive in regards to his statements about IU and the staff. Says that positive social media interaction with Taylor is a good thing. https://x.com/3thantaylor24 mamasa, BannerVille, Stuhoo and 4 others 7 Quote
Hoosierfanyuh Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 I realistically think it’s going to end up being a 4 person class. Moody, allmond, Taylor and one of the elite guards were going after. Well visit this post later on. mike vannice and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote

As big as a cluster f as the first couple months of the DD era was, he does have an exceptional group of recruiters now that he appears to be lock step with. Taylor, Almond, Moody and Rippey is my guess. I wouldn't rule out another shooter foreign or domestic. If we retain everyone, we may not be in the portal business much moving forward, which would suit me just fine. It looks like a 3 year plan, but maybe that's the best way to build a culture. The first couple of months of the CDD era were most certainly not a cluster f. Head coaches and staffs don't suddenly 'figure things out'. There was always a plan and a mindset that was in action, both for good days and bad days; it's just that some (not most) fans were impatient because they didn't see the public results immediately. hoosierfan6157, Class of '66 Old Fart, IUHoosierJoe and 12 others 12 3 Quote

I think it kinda could be seen as a cluste f, just because of the way things started. Getting rid of existing players, having to build a roster from scratch, hiring a great staff.... I still don't know how Darian did it and I doubt there are many coaches who could. Quote

I think it was the Preston Murphy/Texas Tech asst (Moikobu or whatever) attempted hirings that seemed to really stall things out. Then not having guys join him, etc. This part seems by design. Couple of big swings and misses on Dix, Conwell, and maybe Bidunga. They seemed to get mostly who they targeted after that. I think the staff really came together great after not getting the initial guys. I think I love the staff. Wish we would have secured them a bit earlier to see what the roster would have looked like. DeVries seems to really like what he has. I’m excited to see if it’s enough. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app hoosierfan6157, BannerVille and Home Jersey 3 Quote
