I never understood this logic. Maybe it’s because I have friends who are die-hard OSU, MSU, UM, Purdue, and Wisco fans. 
I root for every other B1G team to fall flat on their face

Excited for DDV so don't mistake this comment for buyer's remorse there or anything.

But Indiana hasn't made a Sweet 16 in 9 years, meanwhile Purdue just went to their 6th in 8 years and Michigan is about to make the S16 in year one under Dusty May -- after winning the BTT, also in his first year, something Indiana has never done.

It's just pathetic how bad this program has been for so long. Again, I am excited for the DeVries era and hope that it works out long term. But damn IU has been such a joke for two decades.

I’m just going to keep telling myself Dusty never wanted the IU job at all to protect his family. Makes watching him kill it at a B1G school not named Indiana more palatable lol

Time will tell if Quinn & Co's cronyism created another great what-if in IU lore.  It hurts to see our guy doing so well somewhere else when he could have been here.

I’m a believer in rising tides raise all ships. The Big Ten hasn’t won a title in 25 years. Getting coaches who can elevate the conference will elevate IU, especially when IU is willing to spend on basketball. I also don’t root against my friends teams to see them upset. Yesterday watched games with a Kansas fan, my wife a Marquette alumn, and a IU grad. We all rooted for each other teams.

Must be nice watching IU conference games then, since one team will eventually score more points than the other you’ll always end up happy.

Drake certainly overachieved this year.

But they’re not in the same league as Texas Tech.

It’s also beneficial for these teams to be playing as the portal opens up. They will be busy prepping for the dance and IU can capitalize on it.

I think it’s weird to root for a B1G team to win a basketball natty when we’ve been in purgatory for 25 years and I dislike most of these schools/fanbases/coaches. That’s just me. 
Especially find it hard to root for Michigan, but that’s just hurt feelings see our boy Dusty there. To each their own
