All these allegations and facts are all charges were dropped period end of story. 2nd year at Power 5 Ole Miss and he beats 2 top five team all the while making Ole Miss now a basketball school. His last post game presser he’s wearing a Knight quote on a T-shirt and vocally quotes him often. Hire this man today!

In a hypathetical world where we would choose Brownell or a similar candidate and not interview an initial bad PR hit, I would be bothered.

The thing is, Ole Miss has already taken that "hit" for everybody. Will there be a small contingent of IU fans and certainly beat writers *cough* Gregg Doyel, that aren't pleased? Sure. **** em, I want to see winning. Beard having the success albeit not massive success at Ole Miss looks more impressive to me given the fact that Ole Miss ISN'T a basketball school. For all the talk about McDermott or McCollum being able to see success given our resources, it's safe to say that Beard would be equally, if not more successful given the same resources.

If Brownell is the hire, I won't immediately cut off or stop watching the games, but picking him over someone like Beard will definitely shorten my attention span for that program

I agree. I just didn't want to be pulled back into people's court again. Personally, I think Scott Dolson has had his guy for a while. After the 2021 debacle that opened the door for QB to step in, no way he repeats that again. With that line of reasoning, I think it's going to be a name that brings excitement. It's going to be the "Damn Scott I didn't know you had that in you" kinda hire. Or "Way to go Scott you sneaky f, that took some balls"

Imagine hiring bb when you could get beard. We would likely be doing this again in four years

Has Beard somehow had more success than Brownell the last few years or something? Clemson isn’t anymore of a basketball school than ole miss

Are you actually getting ready to load up the argument that Beard is closer to Brownell than anybody besides you thinks? Tell me that's not what you're shooting for lol

What’s beard done at ole miss that excites you? I won’t ask you to defend his Texas stint. Even you wouldn’t do that

It's not just Ole Miss, it's his entire body of work. Sounds an awful lot like you're trying to compare him to Brownell. For the record, you're the only person I've heard try to make this comparison or even hint that Brownell is better.

Beard is my number 1 choice. The dude would absolutely kill it at IU (in a non criminal way, of course).

I have heard his night of romance on the concrete bench with Big Bubba and the gang that night in Texas zapped him of a little of his coaching abilities.

Sounds like you’re banking on his pre-bubba success??? Can you confirm?

So what level of success are you shooting for with Brownell? There's apparently no bad hires if you listen to half the garbage on this site lol I've seen people go from Stevens and May, to now suggesting that Brownell would be a better hire than Beard. Laughable sir, laughable. But hey, we're Indiana and stuff, greatest basketball in the land. EVERYBODY should he able to make it here with our resources, right?

Not at all. If I were to get angry at what's posted on this board I'd be pissed every day of the week. This kind of discussion is borderline chuckle-worthy to me and will be forgotten not long after it's done. You'd be surprised how opposite I am in comparison to my beloved Franimal photo

They do both have about the same P4 conference winning percentage at 53%.

Brownell actually has more recent success than Beard since his E8 was last year while Beard's FF was 6 years ago.

They're both pretty unimpressive coaches.
