It's amazing what was accomplished in one year -- from a team that needs 4 OTs to beat Akron to a team that smashes bad teams and consistently beats okay teams.  Our ceiling is clearly good teams on the road.  Upgrading and developing the talent to be consistently top-15, if we can do it, will take time.  There is just no way around it.

Fingers crossed we can do that.

The announcers at the end of the game talking about Notre Dame's dominant '394 to 278 yard advantage' was funny. Notre Dame definitely was the better team but they (and some national pundits) are acting like this it was some kind of Georgia/TCU beat down.

There were four teams in the CFP with zero or one loss and two were in this matchup.  Final margin was 10 and even if you take away the late touchdown, it was a 27-11 game.  If Penn State blows out SMU today I am willing to bet there is ESPN silence on 'SMU not belonging'.

I know, but as long as Nick Saban is employed on their CFP shows wearing his Alabama red suit and crying 'woo is me', it goes beyond ridiculous.

The most deserving team left out would have either been Miami or South Carolina.  Why is the CFP committee stuck on trying to sell Alabama as a team that was 'screwed' out of a spot when they had an obviously disqualifying third loss late in the year?

It's not the committee which is pushing that narrative. It's the media, mainly ESPN and SEC shills who're pushing that. ESPN, who has a contract to broadcast SEC games but not B1G games.
