There were four teams in the CFP with zero or one loss and two were in this matchup.  Final margin was 10 and even if you take away the late touchdown, it was a 27-11 game.  If Penn State blows out SMU today I am willing to bet there is ESPN silence on 'SMU not belonging'.

They act like blowouts never happened in the 4 team playoff. In 2022, TCU lost by 58 points. In 2021, both semifinal games were decided by 21+ points. In 2020, ND lost by 17 and Clemson lost by 21. In 2019, Oklahoma lost by 35. 

Basically every year at least one game is a blowout. We didn’t play well at all, but it’s nowhere close to the worst we’ve seen.

I was under the impression the portal closes on the 28th, and that all post season players have a 4 day extended period when their respective season ends.

That’s right.  Dead period just refers to in person contact.  During dead period the portal is still open and recruiting can happen electronically.

I want Mendoza because he's been more productive, but that'd be a pretty nice 2 deep on the QB chart.

I think Pribula could find a power conference team with an easier path to starting than being in the same QB room with Mendoza.

Just from listening to CCC, I never felt like Jackson was ever going to be the guy. I really wanted it to work out but something was missing in Coach's eyes. I'm confident that we will get a QB that fits what CCC is trying to build.

….and Jackson knew it too,…..obviously. I feel Coach Cignetti is always going to look for and find a productive and successful QB each year, unless he finds one will two or three years of eligibility. I really think that is his blueprint right now.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up at UCLA with Coach Tino. I could see Sunseri looking for a few QBs and Tayven one of them.
