It wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up at UCLA with Coach Tito. I could see Tito looking for a few QBs and Tayven one of them.

Tito? Like Michael's brother? Or do you mean Tino? Like Sunseri, our recent QB coach?

:D :D

My post was all in good fun, honestly... no intent to offend... :D :D :D

Absolutely not! I’m all about teasing and having fun! I’m a HS teacher and sarcasm, harmless teasing and joking is a big part of how I relate to my kids. They love it! lol

Didn’t want him starting but would’ve been a good backup next year. Oh well, if he doesn’t want to be part of what IU is building then see ya.

Yeah, would have liked for him to be a backup option or in the mix.  That said, if he's in the portal he likely doesn't view himself as being the starter next year and if that's justified, then IU likely has a lead on who the next guy is.

Does this mean we have either Pribula or Mendoza coming? Has to, right ??

Personally I think we get one of them, but I have a feeling this was coming regardless. I liked him quite a bit, never seemed like the staff agreed. Hope he’s able to go somewhere and have success and appreciate him sticking around for the CFP if it was in fact already determined.

FWIW, I read an article on the Penn State backup QB that I believe is visiting IU and it sounds like his Penn State team mates loved him and were unhappy to see him go.

The coaching staff as well. They wanted him to be able to play in the CFP but the portal ended up being too much of a distraction.

What makes him (The PSU backup) a better or comparable portal QB to Mendoza or a MAC level QB who had a lot of success?

Completely different style of play:

Mendoza from Cal is a tall pocket passer with established success ala Rourke.

Pribula from PSU is a dual threat running QB without nearly as much of a proven resume.

I get that. Let me ask a different way. Before Jackson was in the portal, what makes Pribula more attractive than Jackson?  Pribula has not proven anything really. Now if he is coming to compete great but some seemed to suggest he was their top portal guy.

I think it’s as simple as the coaching staff has seen a ton of Tayven and did think he’s the answer.
