Wonder if his brother being on the team helps or hurts.  It could help being a connection but hurt if he doesn't want to push his younger brother farther down the depth chart

I'm not too worried about Alberto. He's still going to be a developmental RS Freshman, so I would hope his expectations aren't too high. He'll have a chance to compete in 2026 I would think because Fernando has some real NFL buzz.

Definitely interesting to see what happens with Tayven in this scenario. If someone were to leave after spring ball, that room gets thin in a hurry. Even if it was Cherry/Alberto, but especially if it was Tayven.

I wonder in that Scenario IU brings in a backup type in the spring window.

I think it was close to 50 percent of transfer never found a home, so there’s always players out there.

Mendoza is currently my favorite option at QB. His film looks good and seems like Cal is a very similar scheme to us.
